With a growing pipeline of fire safety projects across the UK. Townsend Contracting currently delivers large scale fire safety and restoration works on behalf of some of the UK's leading Build to Rent developers, with ongoing projects across major regional cities. This role offers the opportunity to become a key part of a growing business. Role Description Townsend Contracting is seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of our block remediation project in Salford City Centre. The successful candidate will take ownership of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard, while maintaining the required programme, quality and compliance standards. You will be responsible for coordinating subcontractors and site operatives, monitoring progress, managing site documentation and liaising with the client, consultants, suppliers and senior management. This role requires an organised and confident Site Manager who can work independently, identify issues early and take ownership. Key Responsibilities Take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the site Coordinate and manage subcontractors, trades and site operatives Monitor progress against the project programme and ensure works remain on schedule Plan and coordinate labour, materials and site activities Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications and RAMS Maintain high standards of health & safety across the site Carry out regular site inspections and monitor quality of workmanship Identify and resolve site issues, escalating matters where required Maintain accurate site records, including daily diaries, photographs, progress reports and inspections Ensure RAMS, permits, QA documentation and other site records are kept up to date Liaise with the client, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers Coordinate material deliveries and ensure materials are available when required Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works are completed to the required standard Identify defects and ensure they are rectified promptly Assist with variations and additional works, ensuring these are identified and communicated Provide regular progress updates to senior management Assist with handovers and completion of works Maintain and manage project QA records using the company's digital QA app Ensure the site is maintained in a clean, safe and professional condition Requirements Proven experience working as a Site Manager Experience managing subcontractors and site operatives Experience working on live construction projects Strong understanding of health & safety and site procedures Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications and RAMS Strong organisational and communication skills Ability to work independently and take ownership of site operations Good problem solving and decision making skills Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook Experience in block remediation, refurbishment or residential projects is highly desirable Experience in fire safety, passive fire protection, firestopping or fire door projects would be highly advantageous. SMSTS - essential CSCS - required First Aid at Work - preferred Pay: £50,000.00-£55,000.00 per year Benefits: Work from home Work Location: In person
