Apple's Biophotonics team is seeking a Silicon Photonics Process Integration Engineer to join its growing silicon photonics group. You will join a multidisciplinary team building next-generation silicon photonic integrated circuits, in a fast-paced environment where clear communication and follow-through matter as much as technical skill. This is a hands-on role that combines engineering depth with strong organization. It suits an early-career engineer who enjoys digging deep into technical details while still keeping a complex program on track.

Work closely with internal design, PDK, test and other cross-functional teams to turn requirements into process specifications and execution plans. Run process development with external vendors, from DOE and wafer planning through data review and decisions. Track schedules, deliverables and open issues across several parallel workstreams, and drive them to closure. Create and maintain clear process documentation for the silicon photonics platform.

BS required.

PhD (or MS with equivalent research experience) in Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, Materials Science or a related field. Hands-on cleanroom fabrication experience, such as lithography, thin-film deposition, etch, metrology, etc. Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Research background in photonic devices or integrated photonics. Familiarity with semiconductor process integration, from front-end fabrication through post-fab processes such as wafer thinning, singulation or packaging. Experience designing experiments (DOE) and analyzing process data. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate work across internal teams and external partners. Experience working with external fabs, vendors or shared cleanroom facilities.
