Shift and Operations Manager
Job Summary Prohibition House is looking for an experienced, reliable and hands-on Shift / Operations Manager to join our management team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading restaurant and bar shifts, supervising front-of-house staff, maintaining excellent guest service and assisting with the day-to-day operation of the business. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise restaurant and bar operations during assigned shifts. Manage servers, bartenders, hosts and support staff. Ensure a high standard of guest service throughout each shift. Handle guest concerns and resolve issues professionally. Coordinate with the kitchen team to maintain smooth and timely service. Manage opening and closing procedures. Complete cash-outs, deposits and end-of-shift reporting. Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, breaks and performance. Assist with staff scheduling and shift coverage. Train and support new and existing team members. Monitor liquor, beer, wine and restaurant inventory and report shortages. Assist with inventory counts and ordering as required. Help monitor labour costs and staffing levels based on business volume. Oversee reservations, large groups and special events during assigned shifts. Ensure Smart Serve and responsible alcohol-service requirements are followed. Maintain restaurant cleanliness, organization and health and safety standards. Report maintenance, staffing and operational issues to senior management/ownership. Take responsibility for the restaurant and bar operation when senior management is not on site. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of restaurant or bar supervisory/management experience preferred. Experience in a busy full-service restaurant and bar environment. Strong leadership and communication skills. Comfortable managing and motivating a front-of-house team. Experience with POS systems, cash handling and daily reconciliation. Smart Serve certification required. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Reliable, professional and able to work independently. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
