ServiceNow Architect – Lead Assessor, Independent Implementation Assessment

Contract | Remote, with possible short on-site sessions in Tallahassee, FL | December 2026

A consulting firm is assembling a small team for an independent, time-limited assessment of a state agency’s ServiceNow implementation. The agency is moving IT service management from Cherwell to ServiceNow and wants an objective, evidence-based view of where the implementation stands before work continues.

The role You’ll serve as the named Lead Assessor, working alongside our Engagement Lead. The work includes:

• determining the actual status of what has been designed, configured, tested, and accepted
• reconciling it against the original implementation scope
• identifying architectural risk, unnecessary customization, and technical debt
• informing recommendations on disposition, platform operating model, and path forward

This is advisory only: no configuration, development, or remediation.

Commitment

• A few hours of proposal support in early November
• Availability for a possible agency interview before award (mid-to-late November)
• About 10 working days between roughly Dec 7 and Dec 31, 2026
• Fixed Fee Contract $12,000 to $15,000 , 1099 or corp-to-corp, contingent on award and milestone delivery

Requirements

• Experience as an architect or technical lead on enterprise ServiceNow ITSM implementations: Incident, Problem, Change, Request/Service Catalog, Employee Center
• Hands-on CMDB/CSDM and Discovery/ITOM experience: MID Server, CI classification, identification and reconciliation, data quality
• Experience with a legacy ITSM migration to ServiceNow (Cherwell strongly preferred; Remedy or similar considered)
• Instance and environment strategy, update sets and releases, testing, and production readiness
• Experience with platform governance and operating models
• At least one implementation assessment, health check, or recovery/remediation engagement

Preferred

• CTA, CMA, CIS-ITSM, CIS-Discovery, or CSA
• Public-sector experience

Also required

• U.S. work authorization
• Willingness to complete a Level 2 fingerprint background check and agency security training

Independence: You must not have worked on this agency’s ServiceNow implementation, or for a firm that did.

Pay: $120.00 - $150.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
