# Service Desk Engineer **GPS Telelcoms Ltd.** · Runcorn WA7 3FW · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: вчера* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Service Desk Engineer – Full Time | On-Site | Runcorn (WA7) Full Time | On-Site | Runcorn (WA7) We are looking for a proactive and technically capable Service Desk Engineer to join our growing Managed Service Provider. This is a varied, hands-on technical role supporting both businesses within our wider group and external customers across multiple sites and environments. The role goes beyond traditional service desk support. You will work across IT support, networking, Microsoft 365, telecoms, hardware, site infrastructure and technical projects , with opportunities to attend customer sites, complete installations and deployments, and become involved in the wider delivery of managed technology services. You will work closely with the wider technical team, taking ownership of support requests and assisting with projects, deployments and ongoing improvements across customer environments. This is an on-site role based in Runcorn, offering hands-on experience in a fast-paced, multi-client setting. Key Responsibilities · Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to internal businesses and external MSP customers. · Diagnose and resolve incidents via telephone, email, remote support and on-site visits. · Build, configure, deploy and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, tablets and other end-user equipment. · Manage user lifecycle activities including new starters, leavers, access changes and device deployments. · Support and administer Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive. · Support Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Intune environments, including device enrolment, policies, compliance and application deployment. · Troubleshoot and support LAN, WAN and WLAN networks, including switches, routers, wireless access points and structured network environments. · Assist with technologies including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls and internet connectivity. · Support and troubleshoot telecoms and VoIP services, including handsets, connectivity and user configuration. · Support EPOS systems, payment terminals and associated network infrastructure. · Attend customer and group sites to complete technical support, installations, troubleshooting, upgrades and equipment replacements. · Assist with the installation and deployment of networking, IT and telecoms equipment. · Liaise with internet providers, telecoms providers, software suppliers where required, as well as other third-party vendors. · Assist with Microsoft 365 migrations, hardware refreshes, network upgrades and customer onboarding projects. · Maintain accurate records within the service desk, asset management and documentation platforms. · Produce and maintain technical documentation, customer records, troubleshooting guides and internal procedures. · Follow company standards relating to cyber security, access control, patching, endpoint compliance and change management. · Identify recurring technical issues and contribute towards service improvements and standardisation. · Escalate complex issues appropriately while maintaining ownership and communication with the customer. · Carry out other technical duties appropriate to a growing MSP environment. What We’re Looking For · Previous experience within an IT support, service desk or technical support role. · Experience providing 1st and/or 2nd line support. · Good knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11. · Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration and troubleshooting. · A good understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, switching and wireless networking. · Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, user accounts, printers and connectivity issues. · Comfortable working across multiple customers, systems and environments. · Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate issues logically rather than relying solely on predefined fixes. · Good customer service and communication skills. · Ability to clearly explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical users. · Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple incidents and requests. · Willingness to attend customer sites and work in a hands-on technical environment. · A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new technologies.
