JOB SUMMARY The SEO Copywriter, Medical Aesthetics is the writer behind the content that helps Bios' clinics across North America connect with patients and grow. This role writes short-form video scripts, carousels, social captions, emails, ad copy and website pages, with SEO built into every piece so each clinic stands out in search, on social platforms and in AI search tools. In a regulated industry, accuracy matters. The SEO Copywriter turns complex information about a wide range of treatments into clear, compliant copy that follows the advertising rules of each province or state where our clinics operate. Working in Monday.com, Klaviyo, WordPress, SEMrush and all major social platforms, this role plans, writes and optimizes content for several clinics at once, keeping each one true to its own voice. The result is a stronger online presence for every clinic, more patients through the door and lasting trust built on reliable information. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Social Content Scripts and Carousels - Write scripts for Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts and Stories: a hook in the first 1 to 3 seconds, talking points or voiceover, on-screen text, suggested shots and a call to action. - Write scripts practitioners and content creators can deliver naturally on camera, in simple language with room for their own personality. - Write carousel copy slide by slide (usually 5 to 10 slides) explaining a treatment, skin concern, myth or process, with direction for designers on each slide. - Build repeatable series, such as “how it works,” “myth vs. fact” and “what to expect,” that work across clinics and treatments. - Adapt one core idea for several clinics so each version fits that clinic’s voice, treatment menu and community without sounding copied. Captions and Social SEO - Write captions for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and YouTube with natural keywords, treatment names, concerns and local place names so posts show up in platform search. - Tailor captions to each platform: length, format, hashtags, alt text and first comments. - Keep an up-to-date keyword and hashtag list for each clinic and treatment. - Include a clear next step in every caption, such as booking a consultation or visiting the website. Email Marketing - Write educational and promotional emails for each clinic in Klaviyo: subject lines, preview text, body copy and calls to action. - Write and maintain automated flows: welcome series, consultation follow-up, pre- and post-treatment education, reminders, memberships, reactivation and win-back. - Brief designers on layout, images and the order of content blocks. - Run subject line and content tests and report on what drives bookings and website visits. - Make sure every email meets anti-spam law for its audience: CASL in Canada and CAN-SPAM in the US. Ad Copy - Write ad copy for paid social and search campaigns with the paid media team: headlines, primary text, descriptions and calls to action. - Write variations for testing and make sure each ad’s message matches its landing page. - Follow each platform’s health and cosmetic advertising policies (Meta, Google, TikTok) as well as the rules for each jurisdiction. Website Copy - Write and update treatment pages, concern pages, clinic location pages, practitioner bios, FAQs, landing pages and educational articles. - Balance education and conversion: how the treatment works, who it suits, what to expect, recovery, how long results last and the next step. - Rewrite competitor or manufacturer material into original copy in each clinic’s voice, never copying it. - Keep pages accurate when services, devices, products or practitioners change. SEO (on-page and content) - Do keyword research for each clinic’s market: treatment, concern, local (for example, “lip filler Kelowna”) and question-based searches. - Map keywords to pages so pages don’t compete with each other and find gaps where new pages are needed. - Own on-page SEO: title tags, meta descriptions, headings, URL suggestions, internal links, alt text and FAQ sections. - Write local SEO content for each clinic, including location pages and Google Business Profile descriptions and posts. - Write content that answers questions directly so it can appear in AI search tools and Google’s AI Overviews. - Give the web developer content for structured data (FAQs, services, locations, practitioners) and flag technical issues like broken links or duplicate pages. - Track rankings, traffic and click-through rates in Google Search Console and SEMrush. Run regular content audits Compliance and Accuracy - Learn and apply the advertising rules for each clinic, service and jurisdiction. In Canada: Health Canada rules on advertising prescription drugs and medical devices, the Competition Act, and provincial college standards (for example CPSA, CRNA and CNDA in Alberta; CPSBC, BCCNM and CCHPBC in BC). In the US: FTC rules on health claims, endorsements and reviews, FDA rules on drug and device claims, and state medical and nursing board rules. - Write accurate, educational copy with no guarantees, exaggerated claims, unapproved uses, or testimonials where they aren’t allowed. - Flag claims, offers or wording that need clinical or compliance review instead of guessing. - Help build and maintain an approved claims library, standard disclaimers and a terminology guide for each jurisdiction. - Fact-check against credible sources such as peer-reviewed research, manufacturer information and official product monographs. Keep a source for every claim. Planning and Collaboration - Turn monthly content calendars into finished copy, on deadline, for several clinics at once. - Interview practitioners, clinic managers and front desk teams for accurate treatment details and common patient questions. - Work with designers, content creators, the web developer and the paid media team so messaging stays consistent from ad to landing page to email. - Use AI writing tools responsibly: edit, fact-check and rewrite AI-assisted drafts so final copy is accurate, compliant and sounds human. - Keep brand voice guides, copy templates and process documents for each clinic up to date. - Any other copywriting needs as they come up. All other related and reasonable duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS Required - 3+ years of professional copywriting experience, in-house or at an agency. - A portfolio showing range across at least three of: website pages, short-form video scripts, carousels, social captions, emails, ads or landing pages. - Proven on-page and local SEO skills, with examples of content that improved rankings, organic traffic or conversions. - Hands-on experience with SEMrush (or a similar tool such as Ahrefs) and Google Search Console. - Ability to research complex or technical topics and explain them accurately in plain language. - A careful approach to claims and comfortable working within strict guidelines and approval steps. - Strong self-editing, excellent grammar and close attention to detail. - Comfort switching between several brands, voices and deadlines in the same week. - Excellent written and spoken English and the ability to work independently while staying in close contact with a remote team. Preferred - Experience in healthcare, medical aesthetics, med spa, dermatology, plastic surgery, skincare, wellness or another regulated health category. - Familiarity with health advertising rules in Canada, the US or both. - Knowledge of aesthetic treatments and terminology, such as neuromodulators, dermal fillers, energy-based devices, chemical peels and medical-grade skincare. - Experience writing paid social and search ads. - Experience with Klaviyo, WordPress and Monday.com, or similar tools. - Experience writing for multi-location or multi-brand businesses, or for both Canadian and US audiences. - Enough technical SEO knowledge to spot issues and explain them to a developer. - Experience writing for on-camera talent or short-form video. WHAT WE OFFER - Competitive salary based on experience. - Flexible remote or hybrid work, depending on your location. - Opportunities for professional growth and development. - A collaborative and supportive team culture.
