Looking for a great teacher ready for more ownership Canopy is looking for an experienced educator to join our Bishan team in one of two capacities: Location : Tiong Bahru Centre (near Tiong Bahru MRT) / Bishan Centre (Sin Ming Ave) Senior Teacher Senior Teacher + Assistant Centre Manager We are open to shaping the appointment around the right person. At its core, this is still a student-facing education role . We are looking for someone who enjoys working directly with primary-school children, cares about the quality of their work and habits, and can lead programmes confidently. For a candidate with stronger leadership and organisational experience, the role can expand to include Assistant Centre Manager responsibilities , working closely with Canopy's owners to keep the centre running well and support its continued growth. What You Will Do As a Senior Teacher You will: Guide primary-school children in completing homework accurately and responsibly , while helping them build better learning habits. Lead Canopy's daily programmes in accordance with our educational framework and philosophy. Plan and conduct meaningful enrichment, project, indoor and outdoor activities. Maintain strong classroom routines, boundaries and expectations while building warm relationships with children. Observe students closely and identify academic, behavioural or developmental needs. Communicate appropriately with parents about children's progress, wellbeing and areas requiring attention. Support and mentor less-experienced teachers in classroom management and programme delivery. Take ownership of programme quality rather than simply carrying out assigned activities. (For subject teachers) conduct English, Chinese and/or Mathematics enrichment lessons. For the Senior Teacher + Assistant Centre Manager appointment In addition to the above, you will gradually take ownership of selected centre functions such as: Coordinating day-to-day centre operations and ensuring programmes run smoothly. Supporting staff deployment, communication and follow-through. Conducting centre viewings and explaining Canopy's programmes to prospective families. Following up consistently with enquiries and interested parents, and keeping enquiry/viewing records organised. Helping ensure that promising enquiries do not disappear simply because nobody had time to follow up. Identifying meaningful student moments, progress and parent stories that Canopy can share. Coordinating regular photo, story and programme updates for our social channels and website. Supporting holiday programmes, events and other centre initiatives. Stepping in to solve routine operational problems and escalating appropriately when an owner's decision is required.
