Senior Tax Manager / Tax Director An established CPA firm in the greater Boston area has an excellent opportunity for a senior tax manager or tax director role. This is an ideal leadership role to join a team of 20 and work directly with the managing partner to service a large portfolio of tax clients. Your team is already supported by a strong audit/attest team, and you will have a leadership role directly interacting with clients and managing those relationships with the support of your team. Primary Responsibility – Ensure complete client satisfaction through open communication, managing deadlines and proactively sharing tax saving strategies. Review and file tax returns. Monitor work flow. Maintain strong interpersonal skills and ability to quickly adapt to evolving client and team needs during busier times. Requirements – Degree in Accounting and CPA required, including at least 6-10 years of experience in public accounting. Must have a proven track record as a manager with supervisory experience at a public accounting firm. Strong tax research and planning skills for corporations and high net-worth individuals are expected, along with some experience with flow-through entities. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written. Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships. Experience with CCH Axcess Tax or ProSystem Fx Tax products a plus. Role – You will lead and manage multiple tax engagements for a variety of clients in an effort to deliver high quality tax services for our clients, while also helping to improve our process to maximize business productivity and growth. Develop, mentor, and manage staff and help them develop in a manner that enhances delivery of our tax services to clients. Actively share knowledge as part of our internal staff development programs. Identify opportunities to expand the scope of current engagements through identification of current client needs and target client requirements. Consult and develop a good working relationship with clients, make recommendations on business process improvement, and serve as business advisor to clients. Communicate directly with clients and partners to “get the task done”. Develop firm-wide training for tax personnel, and manage, train and mentor staff on tax related issues and engagements.
