Senior Systems Engineer - Medical Industry

We're looking for Senior Systems Engineer, you will help translate product and stakeholder needs into clear, structured and testable system requirements .

You will work across product, systems, hardware, software and testing teams to make sure everyone has a shared understanding of what needs to be built, why it is needed, and how we will know it works .

You will own the requirements process for the features within your scope, from initial definition through development and validation.

Understand and define requirements

• Work with stakeholders and engineering teams to understand the needs and objectives behind new features.
• Translate those needs into clear, structured technical and system requirements.
• Break high-level product requirements down into the appropriate level of detail for system, hardware and software teams.
• Define relevant use cases, system behaviours, interfaces, constraints, quality attributes and non-functional requirements.
• Support hardware and software teams when they need to further refine requirements within their areas.

Align teams around the requirements

• Facilitate requirements discussions and reviews across product, system, hardware, software and test teams.
• Resolve gaps, ambiguities and conflicting requirements before they become engineering problems.
• Make sure requirements are understood, feasible and sufficiently detailed for teams to design, implement and test against.
• Work with testing and validation teams to ensure requirements have clear and measurable acceptance criteria.

Manage requirements throughout the development lifecycle

• Document and maintain requirements in the organisation's requirements-management tool.
• Maintain traceability between product needs, system requirements and lower-level technical requirements.
• Track the status of requirements throughout the project and ensure required documentation is available for key project milestones.
• Keep requirements up to date as the system and product evolve.

Assess and manage change

• Evaluate proposed changes to understand their impact on existing system and technical requirements.
• Identify dependencies and potential implications for hardware, software, testing and other system components.
• Work with architects and engineering teams to make sure requirement changes remain consistent with the overall system architecture.
• Help teams understand what needs to change when requirements evolve.
