# Senior Substation QA/QC & Commissioning Engineer **Fusion Industries LLC** · Edmond, OK 73013 · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: сегодня* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Position Summary Fusion Industries is seeking an experienced Senior Substation QA/QC & Commissioning Engineer to support the engineering, construction, testing, commissioning, and energization of high-voltage substation EPC projects. This position will serve as a technical bridge between Engineering, Project Management, Construction, and Testing & Commissioning . The ideal candidate will have hands-on substation experience and be capable of reviewing engineering deliverables, identifying potential field issues before construction, supporting testing and commissioning activities, and troubleshooting technical problems during construction and energization. This is not solely a desk-based QA/QC position. We are looking for someone who understands how substations are designed, built, wired, tested, and energized and who can help ensure our projects work correctly in the field. Key Responsibilities Perform QA/QC reviews of substation engineering packages at major design milestones, including 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC. Review one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, control schematics, wiring diagrams, panel drawings, cable schedules, conduit schedules, grounding drawings, physical layouts, and equipment interconnection details. Review protection and control designs for proper CT/PT circuits, trip circuits, breaker control, lockout schemes, alarms, interlocks, communications, and relay I/O. Review engineering designs for constructability and identify potential installation, testing, or commissioning issues before drawings are released to the field. Support development and review of substation testing, commissioning, and energization procedures. Review testing and commissioning results for transformers, breakers, CTs, PTs/CCVTs, relays, batteries, grounding systems, cables, and other major substation equipment. Assist with relay testing, functional testing, trip checks, end-to-end testing, and verification of protection and control schemes. Provide technical support during substation energization and commissioning. Troubleshoot field issues involving protection systems, control wiring, CT/PT circuits, relays, breakers, transformers, grounding, communications, and other substation equipment. Review test failures, relay event reports, oscillography, alarms, and field measurements to help determine root cause. Coordinate technical resolution of issues between Engineering, Construction, Testing & Commissioning, equipment manufacturers, utilities, and clients. Perform field walkdowns and verify installations against IFC drawings and project requirements. Develop punch lists and assist with resolution of technical deficiencies prior to energization. Review redlines and as-built drawings for completeness and accuracy. Participate in root-cause investigations and develop corrective actions for design, construction, or commissioning issues. Capture lessons learned from field issues and incorporate them into engineering standards, checklists, and future designs. Help develop and maintain Fusion Industries' engineering QA/QC procedures, design review checklists, testing standards, and commissioning practices. Mentor engineers and designers on practical substation design, constructability, testing, and troubleshooting. Preferred Experience 7+ years of experience with high-voltage substations, protection and control, testing and commissioning, or substation EPC projects. Strong understanding of substation protection and control systems. Experience with relay testing and troubleshooting, preferably with SEL and similar utility-grade protection systems. Experience reading and troubleshooting control schematics and wiring diagrams. Working knowledge of CT/PT circuits, transformer differential protection, bus and line protection, breaker failure, lockout schemes, SCADA, and substation DC systems. Experience with substation equipment testing and commissioning. Familiarity with transformer, circuit breaker, CT, PT/CCVT, battery, cable, and grounding system testing. Experience supporting substation energizations and developing or reviewing switching/energization procedures. Experience troubleshooting problems during construction, commissioning, or initial operation. Knowledge of applicable IEEE, NERC, NFPA, NEC, NESC, utility, and client requirements. Experience with substations in the 69 kV through 345 kV range preferred. EPC project experience strongly preferred. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred; equivalent extensive substation testing, commissioning, or field experience will be considered. Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required. NETA or similar testing/commissioning experience is a plus. Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work directly with engineers, construction personnel, testing technicians, utilities, clients, and equipment manufacturers. Willingness to travel to project sites as required, particularly during major testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and energization activities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has spent enough time in both engineering drawings and operating substations to recognize problems before they reach the field. This individual should be comfortable reviewing a protection schematic in the office one day and helping troubleshoot a relay trip, CT circuit, transformer alarm, or breaker control issue in the field the next. They should understand not only whether a design meets the drawings and specifications, but whether it can be successfully constructed, tested, commissioned, and energized.
