The organization is committed to representing, leading and serving the aviation industry by developing commercial and safety standards, advocating for industry policy, and offering services such as financial solutions and operational safety audits. Project details We are looking for a Solution Architect to own end-to-end solution design across a varied portfolio of projects. This is primarily an architecture and delivery-oversight role , not a hands-on development position. The architect will define the intended solution, assess vendor proposals and help ensure the selected design is implemented as agreed. Projects may include: - Cloud-based ingestion, processing and presentation of operational data. - A website rebuild involving integrations with existing services. - Modernization of a legacy database and its business processes. - A digital assessment platform with remote supervision and document generation. Your Team You’ll work with a cross-functional project team that typically includes a project manager, enterprise architect, business specialists and other technical experts. Each project has one Solution Architect responsible for its end-to-end design, with support from data, integration, security and cloud specialists as needed. Project teams vary, but a typical core group is around 10 people and works across locations. What's in it for you - Interview process that respects people and their time - Professional and open IT community - Internal meet-ups and resources for knowledge sharing - Time for recovery and relaxation - Bright online and offline events - Opportunity to become part of our internal volunteer community Responsibilities - Own end-to-end solution architecture for assigned projects. - Produce architecture documentation for procurement and delivery, including C2-level designs and more detailed internal C3 reference designs. - Assess vendor proposals against requirements, architecture standards and the reference design. - Update architecture documentation to reflect the selected approach and approved changes. - Support delivery through technical discussions and regular check-ins with project and vendor teams. - Collaborate with enterprise, data, integration, security and cloud specialists. Skills - BSc degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience. - Proven experience owning solution architecture from design through delivery. - Strong experience designing and delivering enterprise-level solutions. - Strong AWS architecture experience. - Good understanding of cloud architecture and SaaS, PaaS and IaaS models. - Broad understanding of applications, data, integrations and legacy modernization. - Experience assessing technical options and working with external delivery partners. - Ability to create clear architecture documentation and communicate decisions to technical and business stakeholders. - Sound technical judgment, including the ability to critically assess AI-assisted work. - Experience delivering solutions using Agile/Scrum methodologies. - Ability to produce clear architecture and high-level design documentation. - Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. - Ability to explain complex technical solutions to senior business stakeholders. - Strong English communication skills.
