Senior Salesforce Administrator/Developer

Halo Corporate Finance LimitedHorsham

Job Overview

We are an FCA-regulated UK commercial finance brokerage. Salesforce is our core operating system: every lead, deal, proposal, funder submission and commission calculation runs through it. The org is heavily customised around a bespoke Proposal object with around 45,000 records, and we have spent the last 18 months modernising it after retiring a legacy system.

We take a configuration first approach. Every requirement is built with standard, declarative tools (Flow, validation rules, permission sets, record pages, reports) unless it genuinely cannot be, and only then do we write code. You will need to be able to tell the difference, and to justify it when you reach for Apex or a Lightning Web Component. The exception is integrations. We have a growing number of API integrations with third-party systems and data providers, built in Apex and n8n, and this role is expected to build and support them. You need to be a capable developer as well as an admin.

Duties

Build and Configuration (around 40%)

  • Build and maintain record-triggered, screen and scheduled Flows on our custom Proposal, Opportunity, Account and Contact objects
  • Create and change fields, page layouts, Lightning record pages, validation rules, record types and picklists to an agreed design
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards within our folder and access structure
  • Exhaust the declarative options before proposing code. Where Flow genuinely cannot do the job, write small Apex triggers, classes and test coverage to our standards, with the reason for choosing code recorded on the ticket

Security and Access (around 10%)

  • Maintain persona-based Permission Set Groups, profiles, roles and sharing rules
  • Onboard, offboard and change users, including MFA and passkey support
  • Help keep the org compliant with FCA record keeping and GDPR requirements, including Shield Field Audit Trail and Event Monitoring

Data (around 15%)

  • Run data loads, updates and cleanses using Data Loader and SOQL, following our documented bulk-update process
  • Investigate and fix data quality issues, including duplicates and mismatched company records
  • Support GDPR deletion and retention processes with an audit trail

Release management (around 10%)

  • Work in the assigned dev sandbox and promote changes through Staging and UAT using Gearset and Bitbucket
  • Write clear component descriptions, release notes and deployment steps for every change
  • Never deploy directly to Production. All Production releases are approved by the Salesforce and Growth Operations Manager

Platform housekeeping and Salesforce releases (around 10%)

  • Work through our technical debt backlog: identify, impact assess and retire unused fields, flows, workflow rules, process builders, reports, page layouts and installed packages, with a record of what was removed and why
  • Keep on top of the three Salesforce releases a year: read the release notes, test our org in the preview sandbox, flag anything that will break or needs enabling, and do the preparation work before each release lands
  • Track retirements and end-of-life dates (for example Workflow Rules, Process Builder, API versions, authentication changes) and plan the migration work ahead of the deadline rather than after

Integrations and development (around 30%)

  • Design, build and support API integrations between Salesforce and third-party systems and data providers, working from the partner's API documentation to a working, tested connection
  • Build integrations in Apex – Desirable not essential (Named Credentials, callouts, queueable and batch jobs, error handling and retries) or in our n8n middleware, choosing the right tool for each case and documenting why
  • Lead the migration of existing integrations from username-password to OAuth 2.0 authentication before the Winter '27 release
  • Support existing integrations (Nintex DocGen and eSign, Twilio, Webex, and n8n flows to credit and lead data providers) and fix them when they break
  • Triage and resolve support tickets in Jira, and turn recurring problems into fixes

Working arrangements

  • Hours: 9:00 to 5:30pm - Office Based Horsham. Salary is £50,000+ DOE
  • Reporting line: Salesforce and Growth Operations Manager, with a daily check-in and weekly planning
  • Environment: Own dev sandbox, Gearset, Bitbucket, Jira and a company Microsoft 365 account. Production access is read-only by default and granted per task
  • Security: Work is carried out on a company-managed device or a locked-down virtual desktop. A background check, a signed data processing agreement and confidentiality terms are required before access is granted
  • Start: As soon as possible. First month is onboarding to our data model, locking rules and release process, working on smaller tickets before taking on builds
