SENIOR SALES MANAGER - GOVERNMENT
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Sales Activities Sales Calls / Visit – Meet up with clients by appointment or cold calls; service existing clients and bring in new clients Sales Blitz – Promote new packages; push up sales during low period Sales Negotiation – Business discussions; propose customized packages to suit clients’ need and budget; close business deals Hotel Inspection – Introduce hotel’s services and facilities to clients Guest Entertainment – Build rapport with clients; food tasting; introduce new products / services to clients Exhibition / Fair – Participate in the relevant fairs to promote hotel’s products and services together with the Team Members Market Survey / Networking – Visit to conventional fairs to study the market trends; build networks with the relevant and potential markets for business leads Sales Trip – Be ready to assigned for business trips out of KL to service the existing clients and penetrate into new markets Support F&B Dept by selling vouchers of each F&B promotion Handle guests’ complaints 2. Operations Brief or discuss with the Banquet Operation Team with regards to clients’ requirements before each function to ensure smooth operation flow Go through the check list before each function starts, such as seating arrangements, equipment testing, backdrop, signage, coffee break, meal arrangements, etc, to ensure clients’ requirements are met Assist Front Office in checking-in guests, if required, meet up with organizer before and after each function; coordinate with operational team for any changes during the function Follow-up after the function to get feedbacks from clients for future improvement; responsible for any outstanding payments of function held Support Banquet and F&B Team during special events or peak periods, if required, include set-up function room, receive or usher VIPs, F&B serving MOD – Carry out duty of MOD for weekdays 3. Administrations Preparation of quotation, confirmation, Event Order, Amendment, VIP Coverage Form, Post Event Evaluation Form, events’ signages, meal coupons, during the absence of Sales Coordinator Conduct On-the-Job Training to the team members as an go going activity Attend HOD briefing or meeting in the absence of the Director of Catering & Convention (or in the absence, the Catering & Convention Manager) Report – Daily Activity, Weekly Production Updates, Month End Production To achieve the monthly sales target set by the Director of Sales. To ensure higher profit margin especially through yield management. To implement the marketing plan and its promotional activities. To do regular competitor’s surveys on events being held at competitor hotels. To follow up on any leads. To entertain potential and regular clients to secure business and maintain rapport. To introduce clients to our varied facilities. To co-ordinate with relevant supporting departments all pertinent and special arrangements regarding each event. To take on any additional duties and responsibilities as delegated by the Director of Sales & Marketing / Director of Sales / Assistant Director of Sales / Senior Sales Manager.
