You will develop the runtime, SDK, data processing, integrations and platform services that power customer and product applications across industrial, edge and cloud environments. This role is based in Singapore and works closely with teams in Singapore and Japan. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain core platform services in Rust. Design and improve SDKs and developer APIs. Build high-performance data ingestion and processing pipelines. Develop connectors for industrial systems, APIs and external data sources. Improve platform reliability, observability and performance. Support edge and cloud deployment environments. Work closely with application engineers to improve the developer experience. Use AI-assisted development extensively for implementation, testing, debugging and documentation. Own the test strategy and quality bar for safety-adjacent industrial software, including automated coverage and regression safeguards. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience. 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience. Strong professional experience with Rust. Strong understanding of systems programming and concurrency. Experience designing libraries, SDKs or platform APIs. Strong Linux development experience. Experience with networking, data processing or distributed systems. Strong debugging and performance-analysis skills. Comfortable using AI coding agents and AI-assisted engineering workflows. Nice-to-have Tokio / async Rust FFI and language bindings gRPC / Protocol Buffers Embedded Linux MQTT / OPC UA / Modbus / BACnet Time-series data Edge computing Docker / Kubernetes ML inference or AI platform integration Industrial software or measurement systems Data security - experience in OT security specifically secure device provisioning, protocol security (MQTT/OPC UA/Modbus over TLS), and compliance (data residency for edge) About Hioki Hioki is a global leader in the design, manufacturing, and sales of high-precision electrical test and measurement instruments.
