Senior QA/QC Engineer

Job Title: Senior QA/QC Engineer Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary : oversee quality assurance and quality control activities for structural, architectural, and finishing works, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable standards, and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Project Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality procedures, and inspection checklists.
• Review method statements, material submittals, and project specifications to establish inspection and acceptance requirements.
• Inspect structural works, including reinforcement, formwork, concrete placement, and associated testing.
• Inspect architectural and finishing works, including masonry, plastering, waterproofing, tiling, painting, ceilings, doors, windows, and façade works.
• Verify incoming materials against approved submittals and maintain relevant inspection and traceability records.
• Prepare and coordinate Work Inspection Requests (WIRs) and Material Inspection Requests (MIRs) with the consultant.
• Coordinate with the site and MEP teams to verify interfaces, embedded services, and required clearances before concrete pours or closure of finishes.
• Identify quality deficiencies, issue and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and verify corrective actions through closure.
• Monitor subcontractor workmanship and ensure compliance with approved samples, mock-ups, and quality benchmarks.
• Coordinate laboratory testing and review material test results for compliance.
• Conduct quality audits, prepare quality reports, and maintain complete inspection and testing records.
• Manage snagging and de-snagging activities and compile quality documentation for project handover.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of QA/QC experience in building construction, preferably in the UAE/GCC.
• Proven experience covering structural, architectural, and finishing works through to project handover.
• Strong knowledge of concrete works, waterproofing systems, finishing quality requirements, and material testing.
• Ability to independently manage inspections, consultant coordination, quality documentation, and NCR closure.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems; Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and approved method statements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Strong written and spoken English.
