Property Management Services, LLC is a growing real estate management company based in Plymouth, Massachusetts. We provide fee management services for property owners and currently manage 13 properties totaling just under 500 residential units . With a team of 19 employees , we are large enough to offer stability and a diverse portfolio, while still maintaining a personal, collaborative work environment. Our team members work closely with one another, and each person plays an important role in the success of the properties we manage and the clients we serve. We are looking for an experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our team and take ownership of the accounting and financial reporting for our portfolio. About the Position This is a hands-on role with significant responsibility and visibility within the company. The Senior Property Accountant will work closely with our property managers, company leadership, property owners, vendors, and outside accounting professionals. The ideal candidate is an experienced property accountant who is detail-oriented, organized, analytical, and comfortable taking ownership of their work. You should be someone who doesn't simply enter numbers into a system, you understand the financial story behind the numbers and know when something doesn't look right. Responsibilities Manage the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of residential properties Prepare and review monthly financial statements and owner reporting packages Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and general ledger reconciliations Review accounts payable and accounts receivable activity Record and reconcile property-level transactions, including rental income, expenses, security deposits, and owner distributions Review general ledger activity for accuracy and completeness Prepare monthly financial reporting and assist with budget-to-actual variance analysis Assist with annual property budgets and forecasting Monitor property financial performance and investigate unusual or inconsistent activity Work closely with property managers to resolve accounting questions and discrepancies Maintain accurate and organized accounting records Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures Coordinate with outside CPAs, auditors, and other financial professionals as needed Assist with year-end tax and financial reporting requirements Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, controls, and reporting Provide financial information and support to company leadership and property owners Qualifications 5+ years of property accounting experience Strong understanding of accrual accounting and the full accounting cycle Experience with residential affordable housing, LIHTC and/or regulated multifamily property accounting strongly preferred Experience preparing property-level financial statements RealPage experience strongly preferred Strong Microsoft Excel skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines independently Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work effectively with property managers, vendors, owners, CPAs, and company leadership Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered What We Offer $80,000–$100,000 annual salary, based on experience and qualifications Annual bonus opportunity Health insurance 12 Paid Holidays/early release Fridays July & August Paid time off Stable, established company with a growing portfolio A collaborative team of approximately 19 employees Direct access to company leadership Meaningful responsibility and ownership of the accounting function A manageable portfolio of 13 properties and approximately 500 units An opportunity to work closely with property management and have a direct impact on the financial success of the portfolio The Person We're Looking For We're looking for someone who wants to become an important part of our team.
