Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Senior Project / Program Manager with hands-on experience in AI/technology projects to drive multiple strategic customer opportunities and projects. The role spans customer engagement, proposal development, tendering/bidding and project execution, with significant interaction with senior customer stakeholders. This is a high-ownership, hands-on role requiring the individual to independently drive proposals and projects, while actively contributing to tendering and bidding activities. Experience in Defence / Aerospace / Government / PSU projects is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Customer & Opportunity Management - Engage with customers to understand requirements, priorities and opportunities. - Work directly with senior customer stakeholders, leading discussions, presentations and follow-ups. - Manage multiple opportunities and drive actions to closure. - Translate customer requirements into clear internal objectives and action plans. Proposal Management - Own and drive proposals end-to-end, from requirement understanding through submission. - Analyse RFPs/RFQs and customer requirements. - Develop scope, approach, deliverables, timelines, resource requirements and other project-related proposal content. - Coordinate inputs from technical, AI/ML, commercial, finance and other teams. - Ensure proposals are complete, coherent, compliant and submitted on time. - Lead proposal-related customer discussions and clarifications. Tendering & Bidding - Actively participate in tendering and bidding processes. - Analyse tender requirements and coordinate technical/project-related bid inputs. - Drive compliance, documentation and submission readiness. - Work closely with commercial, finance, legal and leadership teams on bid preparation. - Participate in final bid preparation, customer clarifications and submission. Project / Program Execution - Own projects end-to-end once awarded. - Establish plans, milestones, deliverables, governance and responsibilities. - Drive execution across technical teams, customers, partners and other stakeholders. - Manage scope, schedule, risks, dependencies and customer commitments. - Identify issues early and drive them to resolution. - Ensure successful delivery and project closure. AI / Technology - Work closely with AI/ML and technology teams and understand the key aspects of the proposed solution. - Translate business/customer requirements into executable technology projects. - Understand dependencies across data, AI/ML, software, integration, deployment and testing. - Bridge the gap effectively between customers, business teams and technical teams. Experience & Qualifications - 10+ years of relevant experience in project/program management, technology, software, AI/ML, systems integration or related areas. - Proven experience managing complex, customer-facing technology projects. - Hands-on experience with AI/ML or advanced technology projects. - Strong experience in proposal development and management. - Exposure to RFP/RFQ/tendering/bidding processes. - Experience working with senior customer stakeholders. Preferred - Defence / Aerospace experience - Government / PSU projects - Defence or government procurement - Large institutional customers - Technology/system integration projects - AI/ML implementation projects - Complex RFP/tender responses Key Attributes - Strong ownership and execution orientation - Excellent customer and stakeholder management skills - Able to confidently engage with senior people - Strong proposal development and documentation skills - Structured, analytical and detail-oriented - Able to influence and drive teams without formal authority - Comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously - Able to operate independently in a fast-moving environment - Comfortable working under tight timelines and pressure - Strong communication and presentation skills The Role This is not a conventional PMO/project tracking role. The individual will be expected to personally drive: Customer Engagement → Proposal → Tender/Bid → Project Award → Execution → Delivery The person will own proposals and project execution, while actively driving the relevant technical/project aspects of tendering and bidding in collaboration with commercial, finance, legal and leadership teams. The role will involve multiple concurrent opportunities, senior customer interactions, tight timelines and significant cross-functional coordination.
