European Regional Construction Director, Hyperscale Data Centres

Location: Helsinki, Finland (regular European travel)

A fast-growing, private equity-backed data centre platform is hiring a Project Director to lead delivery of several hyperscale developments across the Nordics and wider Europe.

Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, you will own cost, programme, quality and safety across a live multi-site portfolio of 5 Hyperscale Data Centres with several planned more for the next 5 years . You will lead the Senior Project Management Leadership team and act as the Leading voice to hyperscale customers, investors, authorities and the supply chain.

Overview of responsibilities

• Take overall accountability for delivery of multiple concurrent hyperscale projects, from feasibility to commissioning and handover
• Lead and develop Senior Project Executives and project managers
• Own portfolio budgets, forecasts and major contract negotiations with EPC contractors and key vendors
• Manage relationships with hyperscale customers, utilities, grid operators and permitting authorities
• Drive risk management across power availability, long-lead equipment and supply chain
• Champion safety, standardisation and modular construction to improve speed and repeatability

Experience

• 15+ years in major construction or infrastructure delivery, with proven Project Director experience on hyperscale or large mission-critical data centre projects
• Experience running multiple projects or a multi-site portfolio, ideally across several European markets either from Client side, Consultancy or EPC
• Strong knowledge of MEP, power and cooling, and commissioning (Levels 1 to 5)
• Commercial strength with complex contracts (NEC, FIDIC or similar) and large budgets
• A degree in engineering, construction management or a related field; APM, PMP, MRICS or CEng advantageous
• Fluent English; Finnish or another European language is a plus
