Senior Product Designer

Job Summary

Rasan is looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Product & Design team. In this role, you will own the design of key product experiences end-to-end – from understanding the problem and the user, through flows, prototypes, and polished interfaces, to measuring the impact of what ships. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment to design solutions that are both user-centred and commercially effective. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who combines strong product thinking with deep UX and UI craft, and who can lead design decisions within their product area while mentoring others.

Job Objectives

• Own the design of assigned product areas end to end, delivering intuitive, visually polished, and accessible experiences across web and mobile.
• Turn business goals, user research, and product data into clear problem statements, user flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that guide engineering delivery.
• Improve product outcomes – such as conversion, task completion, and user satisfaction – by defining success metrics up front and measuring the impact of shipped designs.
• Contribute to and help maintain Rasan’s design system, ensuring consistency, reusability, and scalability of components across all products.
• Act as a trusted design partner to product and engineering teams, shaping product decisions and delivering within Agile sprint cycles.

Job Responsibilities

Product Discovery and Research

• Partner with product managers to frame problems, define opportunities, and agree success metrics and design scope at the start of each initiative.
• Plan and run user research including interviews, usability tests, surveys, and competitive analysis to inform product decisions.
• Create and maintain research artifacts such as personas, customer journey maps, and service blueprints that reflect real user needs and behaviours.
• Combine qualitative insights with product analytics and experiment results to identify and prioritize UX problems by user and business impact.
• Translate findings into clear insights and recommendations that product and engineering teams can act on.

Product and Interaction Design

• Design user flows, information architecture, and interaction patterns that solve real user problems across mobile and web platforms.
• Explore multiple solution directions through wireframes, low-fidelity concepts, and interactive prototypes, and validate them with users before committing to high-fidelity execution.
• Own design deliverables across the product lifecycle, from concept to launch, delivering sprint by sprint in an Agile process.
• Design for complex, regulated journeys such as onboarding, purchase, payment, and claims, balancing user needs, business rules, and technical constraints.
• Facilitate design thinking workshops and collaborative sessions with cross-functional teams to generate ideas and align on solutions.

UI Design and Prototyping

• Design and deliver high-fidelity, pixel-perfect prototypes in Figma for all platforms and screen sizes.
• Apply platform conventions for iOS, Android, desktop, and mobile web so that designs feel native and intuitive on every surface.
• Design for Arabic and English, including right-to-left layouts, ensuring a consistent experience across both languages.
• Ensure every UI is accessible, responsive, and consistent with Rasan’s brand and design standards.
• Prepare clear specifications and handoff documentation so engineers can build designs accurately.

Design System and Quality

• Contribute to and help evolve Rasan’s design system, ensuring components are documented, reusable, and adopted consistently across product teams.
• Build and maintain reusable components, libraries, and patterns that keep the system consistent and speed up delivery.
• Review implemented designs against specifications and give clear, actionable feedback to engineering to maintain design quality in production.
• Champion design quality across the product portfolio – raising issues early and advocating for the time needed to get details right.
• Stay current with product design trends, emerging tools, and platform guidelines, and bring relevant insights back to the team.

Collaboration and Communication

• Work effectively in cross-functional teams with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders, turning abstract ideas into concrete design solutions.
• Present design concepts and decisions clearly to leadership and non-design stakeholders, explaining the rationale in terms of user needs and business goals.
• Mentor and give design direction and constructive feedback to junior and mid-level designers, helping raise the overall quality of design output.
• Communicate directly with customers and end users – gathering feedback, running sessions, and turning real user voices into product improvements.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Communication, Computer Science, or a related creative or technical field.

Licenses & Certifications

• Certifications in UX or product design (Google UX Design Certificate, Nielsen Norman Group UX Certification, or equivalent) are a plus. Figma Advanced certification is advantageous.

Previous Work Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a product, UX/UI, or digital design role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design work on digital products (mobile and web). Proven experience working within Agile product teams alongside engineers and product managers. A strong public portfolio on Behance, Dribbble, or a personal site is required, showing the problem, the process, and the outcome. Experience in fintech, insurtech, or consumer-facing digital platforms is a strong advantage.

Skills and Abilities

• Expert-level proficiency in Figma, including components, auto-layout, prototyping, variables, and design system management.
• Strong product thinking – able to frame problems, weigh trade-offs, and tie design decisions to user value and business outcomes.
• Deep understanding of user-centred design principles, design thinking methodology, and interaction design patterns.
• Strong ability to create and communicate information architecture, user flows, wireframes, and navigation structures across complex products.
• Hands-on experience with research methods: user interviews, usability testing, surveys, card sorting, and heuristic evaluation.
• Comfortable using data – analytics, funnels, and A/B test results – to inform and evaluate design decisions.
• Clear understanding of iOS (Human Interface Guidelines) and Android (Material Design) conventions, and experience designing responsive web experiences.
• Strong visual design sensibility, with close attention to typography, spacing, colour, and detail. Experience designing bilingual Arabic/English and right-to-left interfaces is a plus.
• High-level knowledge of Agile software development and the ability to deliver design incrementally alongside engineering.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to present design rationale clearly to customers, peers, and leadership.
• Passionate about using design to resolve real user pain points, with a track record of measurably improving product usability and user satisfaction.
