Senior Procurement Engineer – Landscaping

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Engineer with a strong background in landscape construction projects. The candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end procurement activities, sourcing reliable suppliers, negotiating competitive prices, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials in accordance with project specifications, budgets, and schedules.

The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience procuring softscape, hardscape, irrigation, and other landscaping-related materials from local and international suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement activities for landscape construction projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing.
• Source, evaluate, and develop relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, nurseries, subcontractors, and service providers.
• Procure landscaping materials, including trees, shrubs, plants, turf, soil, fertilizers, mulch, and other softscape materials.
• Procure hardscape materials such as paving blocks, kerbstones, natural stone, tiles, concrete products, pergolas, and outdoor furniture.
• Handle procurement of irrigation systems, including pipes, fittings, pumps, valves, sprinklers, drip lines, controllers, and related accessories.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations, prepare comparative statements, negotiate prices, and finalize commercial terms.
• Review material specifications, BOQs, approved drawings, and project requirements before placing purchase orders.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Landscape Engineers, Estimation, Quantity Surveying, Accounts, and Stores teams to identify material requirements.
• Prepare and process purchase orders, monitor procurement schedules, and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely site deliveries.
• Coordinate material submittals, samples, technical documents, and approvals in line with project and consultant requirements.
• Identify alternative suppliers and materials to achieve cost savings without compromising quality or specifications.
• Monitor market prices, supplier performance, lead times, and material availability.
• Resolve procurement issues relating to material quality, delivery delays, shortages, and non-compliance.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, purchase orders, and cost reports using ERP systems and MS Excel.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approved budgets, and project requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field. Qualifications in Procurement or Supply Chain Management may also be considered.
• Minimum 7–10 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably within landscaping or landscape construction companies.
• Strong knowledge of softscape, hardscape, irrigation systems, and landscaping materials.
• Good understanding of UAE suppliers, nurseries, manufacturers, market rates, and material availability.
• Proven experience in supplier sourcing, quotation evaluation, commercial negotiations, and cost control.
• Experience coordinating procurement for multiple projects simultaneously.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office, and ERP/procurement systems.
• Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and coordination skills.
• UAE experience is strongly preferred.
