Position Summary Engineer and operate Microsoft Purview DLP and related Microsoft cloud data-protection controls across Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Endpoint DLP, classification/labeling, and CASB/MDCA capabilities. Experience: 8+ years in Microsoft security/cloud engineering with 4+ years of recent hands-on Microsoft Purview DLP / Information Protection experience; enterprise M365 security experience required. Key Responsibilities Create, modify, test, tune, document, and retire Microsoft Purview DLP policies and controls across M365 workloads. Configure and optimize Sensitive Information Types, custom SITs, Exact Data Match, trainable classifiers, keyword dictionaries, regex, confidence/proximity settings, thresholds, exceptions, trusted locations, and enforcement actions. Support Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, Endpoint DLP, Microsoft Defender, sensitivity labels, publishing, inheritance, auto-labeling, and DLP integration. Perform incident review and triage; analyze false positives/false negatives, overrides, violations, remediation, severity, and disposition. Conduct recurring policy reviews and validate controls after Microsoft service/product changes. Support CASB / Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps integration and Government-authorized cloud security use cases. Harmonize Purview policies with Symantec and Palo Alto enterprise DLP intent and produce test evidence, dashboards, SOPs, runbooks, governance records, and training. Support Government operator enablement and progressive knowledge transfer. Required / Critical Skills Microsoft Purview DLP; Microsoft Information Protection; Endpoint DLP; Exchange Online; Teams; SharePoint; OneDrive; sensitivity labels; SIT/custom SIT; EDM; trainable classifiers; regex; Defender; MDCA. PowerShell and Microsoft security administration; policy testing and troubleshooting; audit/eDiscovery familiarity beneficial. Cross-platform DLP policy mapping, incident triage, false-positive reduction, metrics and reporting. SC-400 Information Protection Administrator certification strongly preferred; SC-200/SC-300/Azure security certifications beneficial. Preferred Qualifications Large enterprise or federal Microsoft 365/Purview deployment experience. Experience integrating Purview with Splunk, ServiceNow, SIEM/SOAR, or other enterprise security workflows. Current Public Trust/MBI or clearance. Education Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent directly relevant experience and advanced industry certifications may be considered, subject to the applicable contract labor-category requirements. Federal Suitability / Security Candidate must be able to meet IRS personnel-security and suitability requirements for the position, including the applicable background investigation and required security/privacy training. A current favorably adjudicated federal Public Trust/MBI or other investigation that may qualify for reciprocity is highly desirable. What Will Make a Candidate Stand Out Direct hands-on experience with the named platform(s), not only governance or oversight. Recent enterprise production experience supporting sensitive or regulated information. Ability to explain specific examples of troubleshooting, policy/rule tuning, testing, incident support, measurable improvement, and documentation. Federal customer experience and demonstrated ability to work within controlled access, change, audit, and documentation processes. Ability to become productive quickly and communicate effectively with both engineers and Government stakeholders.
