The Role AccountsIQ is seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer to take ownership of our Microsoft 365 environment, endpoint estate and internal IT support capability across a growing SaaS group of approximately 200 employees. This is a hands-on role covering Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, identity and access management, endpoint security and end-user support. Corporate IT is currently supported by an outsourced MSP, and you will play a key role in building greater internal ownership and improving how workplace technology is managed across the business. You will work closely with our SOC, external vendors and internal stakeholders, including the CTO and CISO team, to deliver a secure, efficient and effective employee technology experience. What you'll be doing: Build and improve our internal IT function: Design and improve internal IT support workflows, ticketing processes, SLAs and escalation routes. Improve asset management and maintain an accurate hardware and software register. Help define responsibilities across the internal IT function, MSP, SOC and vendors. Identify opportunities to bring Microsoft operational capabilities in-house. Maintain scalable documentation, processes and controls. Own Microsoft 365 and identity Own and administer Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive. Manage Microsoft licensing and subscriptions. Administer Microsoft Entra ID. Oversee joiner, mover and leaver processes. Manage Conditional Access, MFA, passwordless authentication, access reviews and privileged access. Maintain appropriate identity governance and permission controls. Manage our endpoint estate Own Microsoft Intune administration. Manage Windows, macOS, iOS and Android devices. Implement and maintain compliance policies, configuration profiles and security baselines. Manage Windows Autopilot deployments. Oversee endpoint patching, compliance and remediation. Support security and compliance Coordinate with our outsourced SOC on incidents and remediation activity. Administer Microsoft Defender capabilities. Drive improvements in Microsoft Secure Score and endpoint security. Support vulnerability management initiatives. Provide technical evidence for ISO 27001, GDPR and SOC 2 requirements using Vanta. Support internal and external audit activity where required. Own the internal IT support experience Operate and continuously improve the internal IT helpdesk. Provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support where required. Troubleshoot user, device, access and application issues. Maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles. Identify recurring issues and implement preventative or automated solutions. Deliver a responsive and customer-focused employee support experience. Manage vendors and service providers Act as the primary operational contact for IT service providers and vendors. Coordinate technical escalations and support activities. Monitor supplier performance and ensure issues are progressed through to resolution. Support decisions around which Microsoft and Corporate IT capabilities should remain outsourced or move in-house. What you'll need: 5+ years' experience supporting and administering Microsoft 365 environments. Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Intune. Experience managing Windows endpoints at scale. Experience operating or taking significant ownership of an internal IT support/helpdesk function. Strong understanding of MDM and MAM technologies. Experience implementing Conditional Access, MFA and identity security controls. Experience with Microsoft Defender. Strong knowledge of identity and access management, including privileged access and joiner/mover/leaver processes. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. The ability to work independently and take ownership of issues through to resolution. Excellent customer service and communication skills. It would also be beneficial if you have experience with: Microsoft Defender for Endpoint. Microsoft Defender for Cloud. Microsoft Sentinel. PowerShell scripting and automation. Power Automate. Azure administration. ISO 27001 and Vanta. SaaS or technology businesses. Tenant consolidation or M&A integration projects. Bringing Microsoft or Corporate IT capabilities in-house. Relevant Microsoft certifications. What's the hiring process? A final onsite interview in our Dublin office with our CTO, focusing on your technical judgement, approach to ownership and how you would contribute to the continued development of our internal IT capability.
