Senior MEP Engineer – Hospitality Construction

We are seeking an experienced Senior MEP Engineer to oversee the installation, integration, testing, balancing, and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire life-safety systems for a luxury hospitality construction project.

The successful candidate will have substantial on-site construction experience, preferably in international 4- or 5-star hotels or high-end commercial developments, with strong technical expertise in MEP coordination, subcontractor management, quality control, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Mechanical, Electrical & Utility Systems

• Supervise the installation and integration of backup generators, synchronized switchgears, and power distribution systems.
• Oversee centralized chiller systems, VRF units, HVAC ductwork, and commercial kitchen and laundry exhaust systems.
• Manage water treatment plants, reverse osmosis systems, graywater recycling, and high-pressure booster pump systems.

1. Specialized Hospitality Systems

• Coordinate MEP installations for commercial kitchens, bars, grease traps, drainage, and gas lines.
• Supervise steam lines, drainage, and electrical connections for industrial laundry facilities.
• Ensure proper installation of guestroom energy management systems, smart locks, and automated environmental controls.

1. Fire Safety & Security Systems

• Oversee fire detection, sprinkler networks, and fire suppression systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Coordinate CCTV, biometric access control, and integrated security systems.

1. Technical Coordination & Quality Control

• Review MEP shop drawings, design modifications, and load calculations.
• Coordinate with architectural and structural teams to identify and resolve design and installation conflicts.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

1. Testing, Balancing & Commissioning

• Lead testing, adjusting, and balancing of mechanical and water systems.
• Supervise pressure testing, electrical verification, and emergency generator and power system simulations.
• Coordinate MEP testing and commissioning to meet project requirements and international luxury hospitality standards.

1. Subcontractor & Project Management

• Supervise MEP subcontractors, site engineers, and installation teams.
• Monitor work progress, technical quality, safety compliance, and project schedules.
• Report directly to the Senior Project Manager / Owner and provide regular updates on MEP progress and technical issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a relevant Building Services Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 7–10+ years of relevant on-site MEP construction experience .
• Proven experience completing at least one major international hotel, luxury hospitality project, or high-end mixed-use commercial development.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, plumbing, fire protection, and building management systems.
• Working knowledge of relevant international standards and codes, including ASHRAE, British Standards (BS), NEC, and NFPA.
• Demonstrated experience in MEP subcontractor supervision, technical drawing reviews, testing, balancing, and commissioning.
• Strong problem-solving, coordination, leadership, and reporting skills.
