Position Title: Senior MEP Engineer (Hospitality Construction) Reporting Hierarchy: Reports directly to the Senior Project Manager / Owner Project Standard: International 4/5-Star Luxury Specification Core Performance Areas & Responsibilities: A. Complex Central Utility Integration · Heavy Utility Oversight: Supervise layout, structural integration, and heavy rigging for high-capacity backup generators, automatic synchronized switchgears, and power distribution links. · HVAC & Climate Control: Direct the installation, ductwork routing, and load balancing of centralized chiller systems, variable refrigerant flow (VRF) units, and dedicated kitchen/laundry exhaust networks. · Water & Fluid Dynamics: Manage the implementation of heavy-duty reverse osmosis water treatment plants, complex graywater recycling systems, and high-pressure commercial booster pump loops. B. Specialized Hospitality Infrastructure · Commercial Food & Beverage MEP: Coordinate heavy-gauge drainage, dedicated gas line plumbing, localized grease traps, and precise electrical rough-ins required for high-capacity commercial kitchens and bars. · Industrial Laundry & Operations: Manage high-volume steam lines, rapid-drain graywater plumbing, and heavy-amperage dedicated electrical feeds for industrial washers, dryers, and ironers. · Guestroom Automation: Ensure flawless low-voltage wiring and system paths for automated guestroom energy management systems (EMS), electronic smart locks, and smart room environmental controls. C. Life Safety & Access Control · Fire Protection: Enforce rigid zero-tolerance parameters on the installation of comprehensive fire detection zones, automated wet/dry sprinkler lines, and localized fire suppression systems built to international codes. · Security Networks: Oversee physical implementation of centralized CCTV matrices, biometric access boundaries, and discrete security response zoning integrated naturally into the architectural layout. D. Subcontractor Management & Testing · Drawing Audits: Rigorously evaluate subcontractor MEP shop drawings, schematic modifications, and load calculations against primary architectural models to proactively mitigate spatial conflicts. · Testing & Commissioning (T&C): Formally command the final structural air and water balancing processes, pressure load verifications, and seamless black-start emergency power simulations required to pass international hotel brand criteria. Candidate Profile & Qualifications · Academic Foundation: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a highly relevant building services discipline from an accredited university. · Professional Tenure: Minimum of 7–10+ years of active, on-site construction engineering experience, with a definitive mandate of completing at least one major international hotel or high-end multi-use commercial asset. · Regulatory Mastery: Deep, fluent working command of global technical directives, including ASHRAE, British Standards (BS), National Electrical Code (NEC), and NFPA regulations.
