SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER (Diesel Generator )

Job Purpose

Lead the mechanical design, engineering validation, industrialization and technical delivery of diesel generator sets and customized power generation packages for commercial, industrial, infrastructure and oil & gas applications. Own design from tender review and concept engineering through detailed fabrication drawings, production support, factory acceptance testing (FAT) and final as-built handover. Ensure fit-for-purpose, safe, manufacturable and cost-effective designs against applicable customer specifications, regulatory requirements and project-specific standards.

1. Generator Product & Package Engineering

· Design complete generator assemblies powered by Perkins, Cummins, Volvo Penta, FPT, Kubota, MTU or equivalent engines, including engine-alternator integration, coupling/alignment interfaces, anti-vibration mounts, service clearances and auxiliary systems.

· Design sound-attenuated weatherproof enclosures, walk-in acoustic canopies, containerized power modules, skid-mounted units, baseframes/chassis, trailers, equipment rooms and structural supports.

· Engineer cooling and ventilation systems: radiator airflow, ambient-temperature derating, louver/fan selection, recirculation prevention, pressure drop, ducting and hot-air discharge.

· Design engine exhaust routing, silencers, bellows/flexible connections, insulation, surface-temperature protection and backpressure within engine OEM limits.

· Develop fuel systems including day tanks, bulk/sub-base tanks, double-wall arrangements, bunds, fill/vent/drain provisions, leak detection and fuel transfer interfaces where specified.

· Integrate mechanical interfaces for LV panels, control cabinets, busbar/cable entry, glands, fire and gas systems, access doors, walkways, ladders, lifting points and maintenance access.

· Optimize acoustic performance, serviceability, transport constraints, material utilization and fabrication cost while maintaining product reliability.
