# Senior Manager, VAT, Digital and Devices, Tax **Amazon.com Services LLC** · New York, New York, USA · `On-site` · `full-time` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: сегодня* · *Источник: Amazon* --- ### Top Skills & Match 🎯 **Ключевой стек роли:** `[Finance & Accounting]` `[Tax]` --- ### About the Role Amazon is seeking an Indirect Tax Senior Manager to join the Digital and Devices Tax team, supporting the launch and growth of Amazon Leo's consumer business. Amazon Leo is Amazon's low earth orbit satellite network, with a mission to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities beyond the reach of existing networks (https://leo.amazon.com/gb/en/). The successful candidate will drive the indirect tax position, working closely with Business, Engineering, Finance, Legal and external advisors to shape the tax treatment of Leo’s new consumer and enterprise offerings from the outset. The role will offer exposure to a broad range of jurisdictions and technical topics, including telecommunications services, bundled offerings of connectivity and hardware, design of Leo billing systems, supply chain, place of supply for cross-border flows, and the interaction between indirect tax, direct tax, transfer pricing and accounting. There will also be scope for engagement with local tax authorities through enquiries and audits as they arise. Key job responsibilities The role provides indirect tax advisory support to the Amazon Leo business, covering the Leo satellite internet service, customer hardware and supply chain, product offerings/promotions/enterprise contracts, and legal entity set up. The role involves: 1. Leading the end-to-end indirect tax position for Leo country launches — owning infrastructure and legal entity set up, through to order-to-cash VAT requirements, testing sign-off, and compliance readiness across an evolving portfolio of launch countries. 2. Partnering with Leo business teams early in the product development cycle to ensure tax considerations are reflected in business requirements documents, including invoicing, billing system design, pricing displays and customer communications. 3. Working with Engineering to translate tax requirements into system logic, resolving open points and driving the testing approach to ensure a compliant launch. 4. Managing external advisors: setting the scope of advice, independently evaluating the output and reaching a sound position. 5. Handling engagement with tax authorities, including audits, enquiries and informal engagement, in coordination with compliance colleagues. 6. Providing technical direction to more junior colleagues supporting the business line. The role is primarily advisory, working closely with compliance colleagues on registrations, returns, audits and process improvements. A day in the life The role typically involves moving between three types of work. Advisory work with Product and Engineering on features under development, ensuring that tax treatment is understood, agreed and implemented before launch. Ongoing support for the live business, including advisor queries, positions to be documented, and questions raised by Finance or Legal. Ad-hoc work, including engagement with tax authorities, review of legislative changes across your launch country portfolio, and support for wider planning work across the digital services and consumer devices portfolio where relevant. About the team The Digital and Devices VAT team supports Amazon's digital services and consumer devices businesses globally. The team advises a portfolio of businesses covering streaming (Prime Video, Amazon MGM Studios, Amazon Music), digital content (Kindle, Audible), connected devices (Alexa, Ring) and satellite broadband, and works directly with business teams and cross-functional stakeholders including accounting, legal, finance and tax. The team's focus is on providing clear, commercial and robust tax positions that allow the business to move forward with confidence, and on engaging early in the product development cycle to ensure tax outcomes are delivered at launch. - 10+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - Experience advisory experience in a large accounting/consultancy practice, law firm, tax authority or business in-house. - Experience in international indirect tax planning and strong understanding of or practical experience with tax laws in other countries - Experience liaising with tax authorities including responding to audits and information requests - Experience analyzing and reviewing statutes, regulations, and case law and then extracting data to make appropriate recommendations
