As we scale these projects in parallel, we're looking for a Senior Manager – Procurement to own sourcing and purchasing end-to-end — from container fabrication and MEP packages for new builds, to the seeds, substrate and consumables that keep active grow operations running without interruption. Role Overview The Senior Manager – Procurement will own end-to-end sourcing and purchasing across two distinct but connected categories: capital/infrastructure procurement (shipping containers, structural steel, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing packages for facility builds) and recurring operational procurement (seeds, growing substrate, trays, nutrients, packaging, and other indoor-farming consumables), plus IT/IoT hardware and sensors sourced through or alongside Xantory. The role requires the ability to run competitive vendor bids and negotiate complex, technical, multi-supplier contracts while also managing high-frequency, lower-value recurring purchases. What you will do Capital & infrastructure procurement Source, evaluate and negotiate quotations for shipping containers (new-build, modified, and multi-storey joined configurations) from fabrication vendors Manage procurement of electrical systems, HVAC/AC equipment, and plumbing/drainage packages for container-based and conventional builds Prepare and maintain side-by-side technical and commercial comparisons of competing vendor quotations, normalizing for scope differences before recommending an award Coordinate with engineering/project management to define scope of work and technical specifications ahead of tendering Negotiate commercial terms — pricing, payment milestones, delivery lead times, Incoterms, warranties, penalty clauses — through to delivery and installation handover Raw materials & consumables for Indoor Farming Manage recurring procurement of seeds, growing substrate/media, trays, nutrient solutions, and other consumables for continuous vertical-farming and mushroom-production operations Establish framework/rate agreements with approved suppliers to secure consistent quality, pricing and supply continuity Maintain minimum stock levels and reorder triggers in coordination with farm operations to prevent stock-outs Vet suppliers for seed and substrate quality, food-safety compliance, and traceability in line with FSSC 22000 requirements IT & IoT hardware procurement (with Xantory) Coordinate with Xantory Tech Reseller General Trading on sourcing IT hardware, IoT sensors, controllers, and monitoring equipment for farm automation and environmental control systems. Evaluate hardware compatibility, warranty terms, and total cost of ownership for sensor and automation equipment procured through the Xantory partnership. Vendor & contract management Build and maintain a qualified vendor database across containers, MEP trades, raw materials, and IT/IoT hardware categories. Run structured RFQ/RFP processes, score bids against technical and commercial criteria, and present award recommendations with supporting comparison documentation. Negotiate and manage contracts, SLAs and framework agreements; track renewals and performance against agreed terms. Conduct periodic vendor performance reviews covering quality, delivery reliability, responsiveness and compliance Cost control & budgeting Develop and manage procurement budgets across CAPEX (containers, MEP, structural works) and OPEX (consumables, spares, hardware) categories. Track price trends and market volatility and flag risks to project budgets and timelines proactively. Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives — bulk purchasing, supplier consolidation, alternative sourcing — without compromising quality or delivery schedules. Logistics, import & compliance Coordinate freight, customs clearance, and import documentation for containers and equipment sourced internationally (e.g., China-built containers, imported MEP components). Ensure procurement activity complies with UAE regulatory requirements, VAT treatment, and relevant certifications (FSSC 22000, ISO 45001) Manage cargo/transport insurance arrangements and risk allocation with vendors and logistics providers. Cross-functional coordination Work closely with the Factory Director/Project Manager, engineering, and site teams to align procurement timelines with project construction and commissioning schedules. Support financial modelling and feasibility work by providing accurate, current vendor pricing for capital projects. Maintain clear documentation (comparison reports, purchase orders, contracts) to support audit trails and stage-gate project reviews. Tools & systems Advanced Excel and procurement/ERP systems for cost-comparison models and vendor scorecards What we are looking for Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent procurement certification is an advantage. 8–10+ years of progressive procurement/supply chain experience, including significant exposure to capital/infrastructure procurement (construction, modular/container fabrication, or MEP contracting) Demonstrated experience procuring electrical, HVAC, and plumbing packages for industrial, commercial, or modular construction projects. Experience in agriculture, food manufacturing, CEA, or FMCG raw-material procurement is highly preferred. Familiarity with IT hardware/IoT equipment procurement is an advantage given the Xantory technology partnership. Proven track record negotiating and managing supplier contracts in the UAE or wider GCC market, including import/customs processes. Working knowledge of FSSC 22000, ISO 45001, or similar quality/safety management systems is preferred. Skills & Competencies Strong commercial and technical negotiation skills, able to evaluate complex, multi-vendor technical quotations and identify scope gaps. Excellent stakeholder management across engineering, finance, operations and external suppliers. Ability to manage a high-frequency, low-value procurement stream (consumables) and a low-frequency, high-value stream (capital projects) simultaneously. Able to manage a high-frequency, low-value procurement stream (consumables) alongside a low-frequency, high-value stream (capital projects) simultaneously Fluent English required; Arabic and/or German are an advantage given the bilingual nature of project documentation.
