Position Overview We are seeking an experienced and technically sound Senior Manager / AGM / DGM (Civil) to join our Head Office team in Hyderabad. The incumbent will lead and oversee engineering execution, detailed estimation, Bill of Quantities (BOQ) preparation, cost control, and project monitoring for major Hydroelectric Projects and Pumped Storage Hydro Projects (PSP). The ideal candidate must possess comprehensive technical knowledge of underground civil structures, dam construction, pressure shafts, powerhouses, and heavy civil infrastructure, along with proven expertise in contract management and rate analysis. 2. Detailed Technical & Operational Responsibilities * Project Execution & Technical Management (Head Office & Site Oversight) – Lead execution planning, technical control, and overall engineering management for Pumped Storage Hydro Projects (PSP) and Conventional Hydroelectric Projects from the Head Office. – Oversee technical execution strategies for key civil packages including upper and lower reservoirs, dams, intake structures, underground caverns/powerhouses, transformer caverns, pressure shafts, surge tanks, and tailrace tunnels. – Review and approve detailed Construction Drawings, Method Statements, Quality Assurance Plans (QAP), and Field Quality Plans (FQP) in alignment with IS/international standards. – Provide direct technical troubleshooting and guidance to site execution teams to resolve complex engineering, geological, and structural challenges during execution. – Monitor baseline schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project to track Critical Path Method (CPM) activities and ensure timely milestone achievements. * Quantity Surveying, Cost Estimation & BOQ Management – Prepare, review, and finalize detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQs), Rate Analysis, and Cost Estimates for large-scale hydro and pumped storage civil works. – Perform precision quantity takeoffs for underground tunneling, rock excavation, rock bolting, shotcreting, pressure shaft lining, structural concreting, and earthworks. – Formulate unit rates based on standard rate analysis frameworks (CPWD / DSR / MoRTH / CWC guidelines) considering local material, labor, machinery, and site logistics costs. – Evaluate, verify, and process subcontractor/vendor BOQs, variation orders, and extra-item claims with rigorous technical and commercial scrutiny. * Commercial, Cost Control & Value Engineering – Implement robust cost control systems, tracking Project Cost Baselines, Cash Flow Projections, and Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics across ongoing hydro projects. – Drive value engineering initiatives to optimize structural designs, construction methodologies, equipment utilization, and material usage to maximize efficiency. – Coordinate client billing, variation management, rate negotiations for non-BOQ items, and preparation of technical data for contractual claims. * Cross-Functional Coordination & Vendor Management – Act as the technical liaison between site teams, design consultants, clients, independent engineers, and regulatory authorities. – Collaborate with procurement teams for techno-commercial evaluations of major civil sub-contracts, heavy equipment deployment, and specialized material sourcing (e.g., high-performance concrete, rock support systems, waterproofing). – Participate in technical bid preparation and techno-commercial evaluations for upcoming hydro and pumped storage project tenders. 3. Required Qualifications & Technical Competencies Educational Qualification: B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering (Candidates with B Arc who possess extensive, proven experience in Hydro-Civil project execution and estimation are also eligible). Professional Experience: 10 to 20 years of core experience in Infrastructure , Hydroelectric Power Projects or Pumped Storage Hydro Projects (PSP), with significant Head Office/Execution Management exposure. Core Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of underground excavation, New Austrian Tunnelling Method (NATM), TBM operations, slope stabilization, grouting techniques, heavy concrete pours, and hydro-mechanical interface requirements. Estimation & BOQ Expertise: Expert knowledge in BOQ preparation, quantity extraction, rate analysis, cost estimation, and variation tracking for complex hydro structures. Software & Tools Proficiency: Hands-on experience with MS Office (Excel/Word), Primavera P6 / MS Project, AutoCad, and civil estimation software. Leadership & Communication: Strong leadership, contract negotiation capabilities, strategic decision-making, and excellent communication skills for inter-departmental and client interactions.
