Senior Legal Counsel – Wind Power Onshore, International Projects & Contracts (CEE Region)
A Snapshot of Your Day
Join Siemens Gamesa's Wind Power Onshore Legal team and take the lead in complex international projects across Central and Eastern Europe. You will independently negotiate high-value international contracts, advise business leaders on major wind turbine supply and service projects, and support the development of new wind farms, particularly in Poland and Romania.
Working closely with sales, commercial, project execution, service and project development teams, you will help shape project success from the bidding stage through execution and long-term operations.
If you enjoy combining strong legal expertise with commercial thinking, taking ownership of challenging negotiations and finding pragmatic solutions to complex contractual issues, this role offers the opportunity to make a real impact.
How You'll Make an Impact
- You will independently lead complex international contract negotiations, including Turbine Supply Agreements (TSA), Service and Maintenance Agreements (SMA), EPC-related supply contracts and other major customer contracts, aiming for commercially sound outcomes. - You will advise the business throughout the project lifecycle, supporting bid activities, contract negotiations, project execution, long-term service operations, claims and dispute resolution. - You will develop pragmatic negotiation strategies and assess and negotiate key contractual risks, including liability, liquidated damages, delays, performance guarantees, acceptance testing, termination rights and contractual interfaces. - You will collaborate with project sponsors, lenders and external advisors to negotiate Direct Agreements and other financing-related contractual arrangements. - You will support wind farm development activities in Poland and Romania, manage external counsel when needed, and partner with international Legal and business teams to strengthen contract standards and best practices.
What You Bring
- You are a qualified lawyer in Poland, another European jurisdiction, or a common-law jurisdiction, with substantial professional experience, typically 7+ years. Admission to the Polish Bar is not required. - You have a proven track record of independently leading complex international contract negotiations, particularly involving EPC and FIDIC-based construction contracts, industrial plant construction, infrastructure projects, or major equipment supply agreements. - You combine sound expertise in international commercial contracts and risk allocation with pragmatic commercial judgment, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to achieve workable solutions with customers and senior stakeholders. - You have excellent English language skills and can independently draft, review, and negotiate complex legal and commercial agreements. - Good working proficiency in Polish. German/Romanian is highly desirable. - Experience with English law-governed contracts, project finance and bankability requirements, lenders' Direct Agreements, and the energy sector (including power generation, transmission, or renewable energy) would be considered a strong advantage. Romanian language skills are also welcome. Previous wind power experience is not required. We equally welcome candidates from conventional energy, industrial plant construction, infrastructure, or other major international projects, provided they bring substantial hands-on experience in complex commercial contract negotiations.
