The position will analyze origins, availability, volumes, cargo characteristics, and priorities; define the most appropriate shipping strategy based on cost, lead time, and risk; and identify logistics consolidation opportunities. The role will also ensure contingency coverage for import operations in Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico during vacations, absences, or volume peaks, manage the cost management tool from a functional perspective, and lead planning and operational excellence initiatives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES LATAM Foreign Trade Operations Coverage Ensure contingency coverage for import operations in Chile, Peru, Colombia, and Mexico during vacations, absences, or volume peaks. Ensure process continuity during coverage periods by coordinating activities, priorities, and stakeholders. Manage interactions with suppliers, factories, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and internal teams. Monitor cargo ready date, booking, estimated time of departure, estimated time of arrival, customs clearance, and final delivery. Anticipate risks and lead the resolution of deviations that may affect projects, customers, or operations. Cost and Invoice Management Functionally manage the Foreign Trade cost management tool, ensuring information quality and timely updates. Establish controls and validate invoices from freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and other service providers. Ensure invoiced amounts comply with quotations, negotiated rate tables, contracts, and services performed. Lead the resolution of discrepancies and negotiate corrections and commercial improvements with service providers. Identify and implement cost reduction, recovery, and avoidance opportunities. Shipment Planning Define the most appropriate transportation strategy among full container load, less than container load, and air freight, considering cost, lead time, priority, and risk. Analyze origins, availability, volumes, and cargo characteristics to determine the most effective shipment configuration. Lead the proactive development of shipment plans and ensure execution with all parties involved. Identify and implement cargo consolidation opportunities and reduce emergency shipments. Develop scenarios and recommend alternatives to optimize logistics costs and lead times. Operational Excellence and Governance Lead the creation, review, and maintenance of standard operating procedures and responsibility assignment matrices. Map processes and drive simplification, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure process standardization and governance across Latin American countries. Manage action plans related to operational issues, audits, and improvement initiatives. Serve as a technical reference, guide team members, and provide mentoring, training, and best-practice sharing. Data Analytics and Power BI Define requirements, performance indicators, and business rules for Power BI dashboards. Manage operational and financial indicators and ensure data quality across systems. Analyze deviations and root causes, translating data into recommendations for decision-making. Lead the enhancement of reports and operational controls in partnership with data and systems teams. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum of 5 years of experience in Foreign Trade, import operations, international logistics, or related fields. Experience managing operations, logistics costs, suppliers, and service providers. Knowledge of full container load, less than container load, air freight, cargo consolidation, and cost analysis. Experience working with international suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers. Demonstrated negotiation, influencing, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Experience in technical leadership, mentoring, or professional development. Advanced Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and advanced English. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of Smartsheet and experience with automation or continuous improvement initiatives. EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Foreign Trade, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field. Certifications in Foreign Trade, logistics, continuous improvement, or data analytics are preferred.
