The ideal candidate will be a knowledgeable, hands-on professional capable of independently coordinating immigration cases from initial preparation through final resolution, ensuring accuracy, timely processing, and compliance with applicable immigration requirements. This position reports to the Immigration Department's management and does not include supervisory responsibilities. Key Responsibilities - Prepare and coordinate R-1 religious worker visa petitions, extensions, changes of status, and EB-4 religious worker immigrant petitions. - Manage immigration case documentation involving permanent residency, adjustment of status, consular processing, and naturalization. - Prepare and review immigration forms, supporting evidence, and responses to Requests for Evidence (RFEs). - Coordinate international personnel transfers, visa applications, work permits, and immigration documentation for pastors and other personnel. - Monitor immigration deadlines, visa expirations, case statuses, and regulatory developments. - Maintain accurate, confidential immigration records and ensure timely case follow-up. - Research immigration procedures and identify matters requiring specialized legal review. - Improve case tracking, document management, standardized procedures, and digital workflows. - Provide technical guidance and case updates to departmental management and staff. - Collaborate with Human Resources, international offices, government agencies, and authorized immigration attorneys. Required Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of substantial, hands-on U.S. immigration experience. - Demonstrated experience with R-1 religious worker visas and EB-4 religious worker immigration petitions. - Strong knowledge of employment-based immigration, permanent residency, consular processing, and naturalization procedures. - Proven experience preparing accurate immigration filing packages and managing complex caseloads. - Excellent organizational, analytical, research, and problem-solving skills. - Ability to work independently, prioritize deadlines, and maintain strict confidentiality. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, immigration case management software, and digital document management systems. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Preferred Qualifications - Previous experience with immigration law firms, corporate immigration departments, or religious/nonprofit organizations. - Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active U.S. attorney license strongly preferred but not required. - Experience coordinating international immigration matters and personnel transfers. - Fluency in Portuguese and English strongly preferred; Spanish is an additional advantage. - Experience implementing immigration software, automation, and workflow improvements.
