The role combines operational HR delivery with tactical business partnering, ensuring that people processes, employee relations, organizational changes, and talent initiatives are delivered effectively and in line with local legislation, company policies, and Helly Hansen’s values. This role acts as a key point of contact for managers and employees, providing guidance across the full employee lifecycle while contributing to broader HR initiatives across EMEA. Success in the role requires strong business understanding, sound judgment, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to balance local requirements with regional and global HR frameworks. The position offers the opportunity to influence the employee experience in the Nordics and help build scalable, consistent, and people-focused HR practices across the organization. Key Responsibilities Partner with Nordic leaders to understand business priorities and translate them into practical people plans. Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managers and employees across the employee lifecycle. Advise managers and employees on employee relations matters, including performance concerns, absence management, workplace issues, and conflict resolution. Ensure HR practices are compliant with local Nordic employment legislation, company policies, GDPR requirements, and relevant collective or local agreements where applicable. Create, update and launch local HR policies, employee handbooks, and HR documentation in partnership with regional and global HR colleagues. Support fair, consistent, and values-based decision-making across the business. Support leaders with performance management, goal setting, development conversations, progress check-ins, and annual people processes. Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to support recruitment and onboarding needs across the Nordics. Contribute to process improvements that increase consistency, quality, and efficiency across HR operations. Lead salary reviews and ensure consistency in promotions, pay practices and policies. Support organizational changes, restructures, and communication plans in partnership with leaders and HR colleagues. Contribute to employee engagement initiatives and help translate engagement feedback into meaningful actions. Profile & Qualifications We are looking for an experienced and pragmatic HR professional who enjoys working close to the business and has the confidence to advise leaders on both operational and tactical people matters. The ideal candidate is; A trusted HR partner with strong business understanding and sound judgment. Confident advising leaders on employee relations, performance, organizational change, and people processes. Knowledgeable about Nordic employment practices and comfortable working across multiple countries. Structured, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail. A strong communicator who builds trust and handles sensitive topics with professionalism and discretion. Comfortable using HR systems and digital tools, including Workday, to improve accuracy, efficiency, and ways of working. Collaborative, solution-oriented, and committed to representing Helly Hansen’s values in every interaction. Flexible and solution-orientated in finding new ways of working and collaborating efficiently. Relevant experience from HR business partnering, HR management, employee relations, or HR operations in an international environment is required. Experience working across the Nordic countries, knowledge of local employment legislation, and familiarity with Workday or similar HR systems are strong advantages. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Law, or a related field is preferred. Solid understanding of HR processes, employee relations, and employment legislation in at least one Nordic country; broader Nordic experience is an advantage. Fluent written and spoken English and at least one Nordic language; additional Nordic languages are a plus. Strong MS Office skills and confidence working with HR systems and employee data.
