Senior Electrical Engineer – MEP

About the Role

Alyunbou MEP Contracting is looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical scope on our projects across Dubai, including residential villas, townhouses, and commercial buildings. You will own the electrical works from design review and authority approvals through installation, testing, commissioning, and handover, delivering every project on quality, cost, and programme.

Job Summary

· Position: Senior Electrical Engineer

· Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

· Experience: Minimum 5 years on UAE projects

· Salary: From AED 12,000 per month (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities

· Lead all electrical engineering activities on site and act as the main technical point of contact with the consultant, main contractor, and client.

· Review electrical design drawings, and prepare and review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements for approval.

· Study, prepare, and review electrical load schedules and DEWA load calculations (connected load, maximum demand, and diversity) in accordance with DEWA regulations, and submit them for approval.

· Manage authority approvals, inspections, and NOCs with DEWA, Dubai Municipality, and Dubai Civil Defence (DCD).

· Supervise site execution of LV power distribution, lighting, small power, earthing, and ELV/low-current systems in line with approved drawings and specifications.

· Coordinate electrical works with other MEP and civil trades to prevent clashes, rework, and delays.

· Lead and attend technical coordination meetings, site inspections, and authority meetings.

· Supervise and guide electrical foremen, supervisors, and technicians on site.

· Monitor and report on the progress, quality, cost, and HSE performance of electrical installations.

· Manage testing, commissioning, and handover, including as-built drawings and O&M documentation.

· Identify technical risks early and propose practical solutions to protect programme, cost, and quality.

· Provide technical input on material procurement, quotation comparison, and subcontractor evaluation when required.

· Prepare regular technical and progress reports for the MEP Manager, highlighting any design or execution challenges.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

· Minimum 5 years of electrical engineering experience on UAE projects, preferably with an MEP contractor.

· Hands-on experience with DEWA approvals, inspections, and energization; FEWA experience is an advantage.

· Strong knowledge of electrical design, LV systems, power distribution, and lighting solutions.

· Sound understanding of UAE electrical standards and DEWA regulations.

· Valid UAE driving license (required).

· Strong coordination, communication, and reporting skills in English.

Preferred

· Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (Excel, Word).

· Experience on villa, townhouse, and commercial building projects in Dubai.
