The role is responsible for leading and overseeing the field-based medical science liaison team within the Medical Affairs department. This position plays a critical role in building scientific relationships with key opinion leaders, supporting strategic medical objectives, and disseminating up-to-date clinical and scientific information to healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment with organizational goals while maintaining the highest standards of scientific integrity and compliance. Responsibilities - Manage a team of MSLs across the US. - Develop and implement medical strategies that align with overall business objectives. - Interpret, communicate, and disseminate complex clinical and scientific data to internal and external stakeholders. - Foster relationships with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and external partners to support medical initiatives. - Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and ethical standards in all medical affairs activities. - Lead and contribute to cross-functional teams to drive project success from initiation through completion. - Support the design, execution, and reporting of clinical trials and research studies. - Provide medical expertise for regulatory submissions, promotional materials, and educational programs. - Identify and address unmet medical needs through evidence generation and strategic insights. - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, scientific advancements, and competitive landscape. - Contribute to the professional development and training of team members and colleagues. Requirements Skills: - Strong scientific and clinical knowledge in relevant therapeutic areas - Excellent communication and presentation skills - Ability to build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals - Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities - Leadership and team management experience - Proficiency in interpreting and disseminating complex clinical data - High level of integrity and commitment to compliance - Effective cross-functional collaboration skills - Adaptability in a fast-paced and evolving environment - Strong organizational and project management skills Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry, preferably in a medical affairs or clinical development role. Demonstrated track record of successfully collaborating with cross-functional teams and leading projects from inception to completion. Demonstrated experience working directly with key opinion leaders and managing external partnerships. Prior experience managing MSLs. Education: Advanced degree (MD, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent) in a relevant scientific or medical field is required. Additional certifications or training in clinical research, regulatory affairs, or medical affairs are considered an asset.
