In this role, you will take end-to-end ownership of services, domains, and critical systems, ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of the infrastructure supporting thousands of users across multiple products. You will have the opportunity to make meaningful technical decisions, contribute to our architectural direction, and work closely with development teams and other stakeholders to continuously improve our cloud environment and engineering practices. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working hands-on with infrastructure as code, independently troubleshooting complex technical issues, and sharing their expertise to support and mentor other engineers. The role reports to the DevOps Team Lead within the Cloud area. Key responsibilities Architecture & Cloud Infrastructure: Contribute to architectural decisions and the long-term evolution of our cloud platform, designing scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions across multi-account and multi-region AWS environments. Infrastructure as Code: Build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform, defining standards for modules, versioning, state management, and reusable IaC practices across complex environments. Platform Engineering & Automation: Evolve CI/CD practices, deployment strategies, and operational standards. Implement automation and GitOps workflows using tools such as Atlantis and ArgoCD. Reliability & Problem Solving: Take ownership of complex and critical production issues, leading root cause and impact analyses and implementing sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence. Observability & Monitoring: Define and improve logging, monitoring, and tracing practices, including SLIs/SLOs and distributed tracing, to strengthen platform reliability and visibility. Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain platform controls supporting our security and compliance requirements, including ENS Nivel Medio and NIS2, in close collaboration with the SecOps team. Cost Optimization: Drive cloud cost efficiency through appropriate governance, resource management, budgeting, and optimization practices across AWS environments. Production & Disaster Recovery: Share ownership of production health and design resilient disaster recovery strategies, including RTO/RPO definitions and multi-region failover capabilities. Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with development teams and other technical stakeholders on architectural decisions, platform evolution, and engineering best practices, while helping guide and mentor less experienced team members. Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, or a similar role, ideally working with large-scale cloud environments. Strong expertise in AWS and multi-account environments, with experience in cloud networking, security, and scalable infrastructure design. Advanced experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), including reusable modules, multi-environment architectures, versioning, and state management. Proven experience designing and operating secure, scalable, highly available cloud platforms in production environments. Strong experience with containerized environments and orchestration on AWS, including ECS/Fargate and/or Kubernetes/EKS, as well as GitOps practices and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as ArgoCD, Flux, GitLab CI, or equivalent. Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability, using tools such as Dynatrace, CloudWatch, Grafana, or Prometheus, together with automation scripting and Git-based workflows. Experience operating relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL/EnterpriseDB or MySQL, including high availability, failover, upgrades, and performance optimization. Ability to investigate application and infrastructure issues end-to-end, including Java/JVM troubleshooting, logs, performance issues, and platform-related bottlenecks. Solid understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity, including RTO/RPO principles and resilient architecture patterns. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work autonomously on complex and ambiguous technical challenges. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar tools. High proficiency in both Spanish and English, spoken and written. Spanish will be used for day-to-day collaboration with local teams, while English is required for working with our international and remote teams. Bonus points for Experience administering Keycloak or similar identity and access management solutions. Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL/EnterpriseDB, including administration, optimization, and data modelling. Familiarity with zero-trust networking solutions such as Zscaler or Twingate, and service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd. Strong understanding of cloud and platform security, vulnerability management, and compliance best practices. Knowledge of performance optimization, capacity planning, and distributed systems. Experience working across infrastructure and application teams, supporting joint troubleshooting, logging, and performance optimization. Exposure to backend development, particularly Java, and an understanding of application-level considerations beyond infrastructure. Familiarity with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures.
