The environment supports business-critical platforms where resilience, security, scalability and continuous availability are essential. The Role You will maintain, operate and continuously improve an established Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes/OpenShift environment, with a particular focus on GitOps, automation, reliability and infrastructure as code. Key Responsibilities Build, maintain and optimise secure, resilient and scalable infrastructure across Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Develop and standardise GitOps workflows using ArgoCD and CI/CD automation through GitHub Actions. Manage Kubernetes/GKE environments and support deployments to production OpenShift clusters. Build and maintain reusable infrastructure and configuration using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles. Support highly available, fault-tolerant environments with disaster recovery and zero-downtime requirements. Support monitoring, logging and tracing using Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry and GCP Cloud Operations. Work closely with developers, platform engineers, architects and security teams to improve platform reliability and delivery. Key Skills & Experience Extensive production experience with Google Cloud Platform, including GKE, IAM, VPC, Compute Engine and Secret Manager. Hands-on Kubernetes experience, ideally GKE, alongside OpenShift, Helm and Kustomize. Experience implementing ArgoCD/GitOps and building CI/CD workflows with GitHub Actions. Advanced Terraform and Infrastructure as Code experience. Linux systems engineering and automation/scripting using Python, Bash or Go. Experience supporting mission-critical, low-latency, high-availability and zero-downtime systems. Understanding and practical adoption of modern AI/GenAI technologies. Desirable Relevant GCP certifications, such as Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer. Istio / Service Mesh and zero-trust architecture experience. Experience with Grafana Cloud or comparable observability platforms. Previous experience within financial services, trading, clearing or risk management technology.
