We’re looking for a Senior Development Underwriter/Manager to join our Construction & Casualty team. Based in the UK, this role focuses on building broker relationships, developing new business, and managing facilities. You’ll have the chance to lead, innovate, and make a real impact in a collaborative and supportive environment. How you'll make an impact You’ll lead the charge in developing and delivering our new business plan. By building strong broker relationships, you’ll identify and convert profitable opportunities. You’ll also negotiate and manage facilities, ensuring they align with underwriting discipline and insurer appetite. Acting as a senior market-facing representative, you’ll promote Pen’s Construction & Casualty proposition. Additionally, you’ll underwrite complex risks, provide technical guidance to colleagues, and mentor the team to achieve shared goals. About You Here’s what you’ll bring to the role: - Experience in underwriting Construction and Casualty risks, including complex cases. - A proven track record of developing and converting new business through broker relationships. - Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills. - Knowledge of delegated facilities and portfolio management. - Commercial awareness and sound judgement in underwriting decisions. - Leadership skills, with experience mentoring and coaching colleagues. - IT proficiency and a commitment to personal development. - CII/Dip CII qualification or progress towards it.
