Senior Contracts Manager – Garden Room Installations
Take ownership of construction delivery for a growing premium garden room company.
Haon Garden Rooms is an established and ambitious garden room company specialising in beautifully designed, bespoke garden buildings.
With showrooms in Bedfordshire and Cambridge, a strong reputation for quality and an expanding installation operation, we're looking for an exceptional Senior Contracts Manager to take responsibility for the successful delivery of our projects.
This is a key appointment within our business.
We're not looking for someone who simply coordinates jobs or reports problems back to the Managing Director.
We're looking for an experienced construction professional who takes ownership, leads from the front, solves problems and makes things happen.
The opportunity
You'll oversee up to seven established carpentry installation teams, each with its own lead carpenter, alongside our specialist groundworkers, electricians, plasterers and decorators.
You'll work closely with an experienced Projects Administrator who already manages material ordering, build schedules and specialist trade bookings.
This means you'll be able to concentrate on what you do best: managing construction delivery, visiting sites, leading teams, maintaining exceptional quality standards and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and profitably.
You'll have the autonomy to make decisions, improve processes and play a significant role in the continued growth of Haon Garden Rooms.
What you'll be responsible for
- Taking ownership of the successful delivery of multiple garden room installations across the region.
- Regularly visiting active construction sites to monitor progress, workmanship, productivity and quality.
- Managing and supporting our seven lead carpenters and their installation teams.
- Identifying and resolving technical construction issues independently.
- Ensuring projects are delivered on programme, within budget and to Haon's exacting standards.
- Monitoring project expenditure, labour efficiency, variations and construction costs.
- Coordinating closely with our Projects Administrator to ensure materials, trades and installation schedules are aligned.
- Managing construction-related customer queries, complaints and snagging.
- Maintaining high standards of site safety, organisation and professionalism.
- Improving operational processes as the business continues to expand.
What we're looking for
You'll be an experienced Contracts Manager, Construction Manager or Senior Site Manager with a proven background in residential construction or specialist installation projects.
Ideally, you'll have experience in timber-frame construction, modular buildings, garden rooms, residential extensions or high-end home improvements.
More importantly, you'll have the organisational ability and commercial awareness to manage several live construction projects simultaneously.
You'll need to demonstrate:
- Proven experience managing multiple construction sites and installation teams.
- Strong technical building knowledge and practical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organisation, planning and prioritisation.
- The confidence to manage tradespeople and hold teams accountable.
- Strong cost control and commercial awareness.
- Excellent communication and customer management skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to work independently.
- Relevant construction health and safety knowledge.
- A full UK driving licence.
Relevant qualifications such as SMSTS, SSSTS or construction management qualifications would be advantageous, alongside demonstrable practical experience.
What we offer
- £60,000–£70,000 basic salary , depending on experience.
- Performance-related bonus.
- Company vehicle.
- Established installation teams and experienced administrative support.
- Genuine autonomy and responsibility.
- A key leadership role in an ambitious, growing company.
- Opportunity to progress into a Head of Construction position.
- The opportunity to shape and improve how our construction operation works.
Who will succeed at Haon?
You'll be someone who thrives on responsibility, enjoys being on-site and takes genuine pride in delivering outstanding construction projects.
You'll be highly organised, commercially aware and confident making decisions.
You won't need to be chased for updates or reminded about outstanding issues. You'll know exactly what's happening across your projects, anticipate problems and take action before they escalate.
Most importantly, you'll treat the quality, profitability and reputation of every Haon installation as if it were your own business.
If you're an experienced construction professional looking for a role where you can make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply with your CV and a brief explanation of your experience managing multiple construction projects and installation teams.
