# Senior Client Advisor (CPA/EA) **InTrack CFO** · Bozeman, MT 59715 · `On-site` 🕒 **Статус:** *Опубликовано: сегодня* · *Источник: Indeed* --- ### About the Role Senior Client Advisor (CPA/EA) InTrack CFO · Downtown Bozeman, MT · In office At InTrack CFO, we give business owners something most of them have never had: an accounting team that digs deep into their business, gives them tax advice they can actually use, and picks up the phone to walk them through whatever they’re facing. We’re full service. Most businesses juggle a separate bookkeeper, payroll provider, tax preparer, and CFO consultant. Our clients get one team that manages the whole process from end to end: accounting, payroll, tax planning, custom reporting, CFO advisory, and their returns at year end. We work with mid-size businesses on a recurring monthly basis, meet with them monthly or quarterly, and keep our client loads lower than most, so we have time to give real answers instead of rushed ones. That model is working, and we’ve grown. This is a senior role with real ownership from day one. You’ll own client relationships, review the team’s work, and help shape how we operate. We’re looking for someone who wants to stick with us for the long haul and grow as the firm grows. What you’d own You’ll be the person clients call when they want to know what their numbers mean and what to do about them. You’ll lead client meetings, explain results in plain English, and put together the financial packages and reports owners rely on. Most of that work starts from our templates, but you’ll build custom reporting when a client needs something more. Experience with budgeting and cash flow forecasting is a plus. When it comes to tax, knowledge matters more here than volume. We’re not a high-volume return shop, but we take a lot of pride in doing tax well, and you’ll be involved throughout the process. Depending on your experience, that could include preparing returns, reviewing them, or both. What matters most is that you truly understand the rules: how they apply to each client’s business, where the planning opportunities are, and what the tradeoffs look like. Many of our clients operate in a heavily regulated industry with unusually complex tax rules, so you’ll be researching tough questions and making real calls. New clients often come to us with a mess: books that haven’t been reconciled in months, misclassified transactions, or prior-year issues nobody caught. You’ll dig in, figure out what happened, and get it cleaned up. Inside the firm, you’ll review the team’s work, catch issues before clients see them, and help build the processes and SOPs that keep us running smoothly as we grow. You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty, either. Our team handles most of the bookkeeping, but depending on workloads, some hands-on accounting will land on your plate along with the review. Here’s what a great first year looks like: clients say you’re the best accountant they’ve ever worked with, you’ve taken full ownership of your clients and your work, and you’ve tied up the loose ends so everything gets carried through to the finish. The firm runs better because you’re here. You’re probably a fit if - You have a deep, working command of accounting and tax, including inventory and COGS, fixed assets and depreciation, and other complex situations, and you can tell right away when a set of financials or a return doesn’t add up. - You understand tax well enough to plan, not just prepare. You know how entity structure, timing, and accounting decisions shape a return, and you’re comfortable working with strategies like multi-entity structuring, accelerated depreciation, and tax-advantaged investments. You find savings others would miss. - You can walk into a mess and fix it. Give you a disorganized set of books and you’ll find the problems, trace them to the source, and bring it all the way back to clean. - Business owners actually look forward to talking with you. You’re easy to work with, you give them real insight into their business, and you answer difficult questions honestly, even when the answer isn’t what they hoped to hear. - You don’t wait to be told what to do, and you know when to ask a question. - You don’t sweep things under the rug. When something’s wrong, you bring it up and deal with it directly. - You’re always asking “what could we do better?”, and then you go do it. - You have a CPA or EA (preferred). This isn’t for you if you’d rather grind out returns with your head down and skip the client conversations. This is a senior seat, and we’re looking for someone who already knows their stuff. You’ll bring the expertise; we won’t be teaching the basics. It also helps to know that at a small firm, there’s no department down the hall to hand things off to. Sometimes the job is an IRS notice, a workers’ comp report, or a payroll issue that just needs someone to figure it out and get it done. If that sounds like a puzzle worth solving rather than a headache, you’ll fit right in. How we work We’re a small, close team in one office in downtown Bozeman, and you’ll work alongside the whole team every day. Questions get passed across desks, and work goes to whoever is best suited for it. This is an in-office, 9-to-5 role, and busy season means solid 40-hour weeks, not 70. Life still happens. If your kid has a soccer game at 3, go. As long as your work is handled, we’ll make it work. We notice hard work, and we reward it. If you take care of our clients and our team, we’ll take care of you. Our tools: QuickBooks Online, Gusto, ProConnect, Financial Cents, and Dropbox. Strong QBO experience is a big plus; the rest you’ll pick up fast. To apply Email your resume to hello@intrackcfo.com with “Senior Client Advisor – [Your Name]” in the subject line. In the email, answer this in a few sentences: Why are you a good fit for this role? And in your experience, what separates an accounting team clients love from one they just put up with? Keep it short and in your own words. We’d rather read three honest sentences than a polished page. We review every application and will get back to you within a week.
