(NMR) is a URAC-accredited Independent Review Organization (IRO) specializing in medical and behavioral health review processes. Since 1996, NMR has provided comprehensive review services to a diverse range of clients, including insurance providers, government agencies, hospitals, and law firms, supporting all levels of the appeal process and external reviews. Job Summary Serves as the primary Product Manager for NMR’s proprietary internal application, with responsibility for improving operational efficiency, effectiveness, quality, scalability, user experience, compliance, and control effectiveness through business-process improvement and application development. Operates across two equally important areas of responsibility: partnering with business stakeholders to define and improve operational processes and working closely with the software-development team to translate approved needs into successfully delivered application improvements. Responsibilities Serves as NMR’s centralized Product Management liaison between business process owners, stakeholders, and the software-development partner. Maintains consistent communication, documentation, and shared understanding across NMR’s lines of business while facilitating the collaboration needed to define and deliver application improvements. Translates business processes and stakeholder decisions into clear, detailed, and testable application features, functional requirements, workflows, business rules, user interactions, data and reporting requirements, controls, exception handling, integrations, and acceptance criteria. Works directly with developers, business analysts, architects, technical leads, and other technical personnel throughout product refinement, solution evaluation, development, testing, release, and post-production review. Develops and maintains detailed documentation of application functionality, business processes, workflows, integrations, data flows, business rules, dependencies, controls, roles, and affected stakeholders. Evaluates and communicates the downstream effects of proposed changes across application functions, business processes, data, reporting, security, privacy, compliance, finance, controls, and users. Works with business owners, data personnel, and the development team to define and surface the operational data, reports, baselines, and performance measures needed to evaluate business needs, prioritize investments, support governance decisions, establish success criteria, and measure product outcomes. Maintains the application roadmap and prioritized backlog in accordance with business-owner and Product Governance decisions, considering strategic objectives, operational needs, risks, value, dependencies, commitments, and development capacity. Reviews Azure DevOps work items for alignment with approved Product Requirements. Develops testable acceptance criteria and coordinates stakeholder-led business testing, defect resolution, release-readiness review, business approval, and post-production validation. Coordinates operational readiness for application changes, including process and procedure documentation, stakeholder communications, training needs, role changes, control implementation, business readiness, and post-release adoption. Ø Incorporates security, privacy, compliance, data integrity, access control, auditability, and records requirements throughout the product management lifecycle. Maintains authoritative and traceable product documentation, including process and application maps, requirements, decisions, dependencies, acceptance criteria, development references, testing evidence, scope changes, release information, and production outcomes. Uses Microsoft 365 and related tools, including SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, Forms, Power Automate, Teams, Excel, Power BI, and Azure DevOps, to support product intake, workflow, documentation, governance, traceability, and reporting. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in business-process redesign, application product management, product ownership, business analysis, technology-enabled operational transformation, or closely related work. Significant experience assessing and redesigning complex business processes and translating them into features and functional requirements for custom software applications. Demonstrated experience collaborating directly with software-development teams and serving as the central connection between business and technical stakeholders. Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining detailed application, process, integration, data-flow, and dependency documentation and using it to assess downstream impacts and support product decisions. Experience developing application roadmaps, managing prioritized backlogs, evaluating competing needs, and facilitating decisions involving value, risk, dependencies, capacity, and product tradeoffs. Experience defining the data, reporting, baselines, and performance measures needed to support product prioritization, governance, success criteria, and outcome measurement. Significant experience working in a regulated or compliance-intensive environment is required. Healthcare, utilization management, health insurance, medical review, or related healthcare operations experience is strongly preferred. Prior business-process, controls, transformation, operational, or technology consulting experience with a Big Four or other recognized consulting or advisory firm is preferred. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate complex cross-functional discussions, challenge assumptions constructively, resolve conflicting requirements, and communicate effectively with business and technical stakeholders. Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or a comparable software product-management platform. Familiarity with Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, Forms, Power Automate, Power BI, Teams, and related workflow, reporting, and collaboration capabilities. Strong judgment, organization, initiative, and documentation discipline, with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives, competing priorities, dependencies, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations with minimal guidance. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Operations, Accounting, Finance, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent directly relevant experience. Ability to work effectively with individuals at all organizational levels and across business, operational, compliance, financial, data, security, and technical functions. Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
