They are already shipping LLM-powered features to those users. They need a senior engineer to make those features fast, accurate and safe in production. What you'll do - Build and ship LLM features in the app: personalised content recommendations, AI-generated push notifications and conversational insights, including structured output such as charts - Cut response times using streaming, pre-generation and inference-time trade-offs - Tune prompts and work with fine-tuned health-domain models (Llama, Gemma, MedGemma) - Run A/B tests on model and prompt changes, with evaluation gates before anything ships - Build the golden test sets and evaluation data behind your features - Pick up infrastructure work (Databricks, AWS EKS, Terraform) when a project needs it AI in the work AI is the job, not a side interest. Outputs are checked by automated judges and evaluation gates before release, and you'll work with the Product, Security and Medical teams on what "safe" means for health content. What you'll need - 7+ years of software engineering, with recent hands-on work shipping product features backed by LLMs - Experience in at least one of: prompt engineering, LLM evaluation, fine-tuning or model serving - Strong Python, and comfort with the APIs and SDKs that wrap LLM calls - A record of shipping user-facing features, with attention to latency, tone and quality Useful, not essential: LLM evaluation frameworks, DSPy, personalisation or ranking, healthcare or regulated AI, Spark/Delta. Probably not for you if - Your LLM work hasn't reached real users yet - You want research rather than product engineering - You need a fully remote role What's on offer £120,000 – £180,000 base depending on experience, a performance incentive scheme, annual pay reviews, private health and pension, enhanced parental leave, and a five-week paid sabbatical after five years.
