We are looking for a Senior Accountant to own the complete accounting function across these branches. The role covers receivables, payables, bank and inventory reconciliations, statutory compliance, and financial reporting, and calls for sound judgement in a high-volume, credit-driven trading environment. Key Responsibilities Multi-Branch Accounting & Consolidation - Manage and consolidate accounting operations for all branches under the entity, ensuring uniform accounting policies, chart of accounts, and reporting standards. - Reconcile inter-branch stock transfers and inter-branch balances, and ensure correct branch-wise profit and loss reporting. - Review branch-level ledgers, cash sales, and daily collections for accuracy and timely posting. Accounts Receivable (AR) - Manage end-to-end AR: invoicing, credit note processing, collections follow-up, and customer statement reconciliation. - Monitor customer credit limits and credit terms, and prepare ageing analysis to flag overdue and high-risk accounts. - Track post-dated cheques (PDCs), cheque clearances, and returned cheques, and coordinate with the sales team on recovery. - Recommend provisions for doubtful debts in line with company policy. Accounts Payable (AP) - Manage end-to-end AP: verify supplier invoices against LPOs and GRNs (three-way matching), process payments, and reconcile vendor statements. - Maintain accurate records of local and import suppliers, including advance payments, retention, and credit terms. - Plan supplier payments in line with cash flow priorities and agreed credit periods. Inventory & Cost Accounting - Maintain accurate inventory valuation across branches and warehouses, and support periodic stock counts and stock reconciliations. - Monitor material costing, landed cost calculation for imports (freight, customs duty, clearing charges), and gross margin by product category. - Analyse slow-moving and obsolete stock, and flag write-down or provision requirements. Banking & Treasury Support - Perform periodic bank reconciliations across all branch bank accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly. - Handle trade finance documentation support, including LCs, TTs, and bank guarantees, in coordination with the bank and procurement team. - Support management with daily cash position tracking, cash flow forecasting, and working capital management across branches. Financial Reporting & Month-End / Year-End Closing - Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS. - Post and review accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and provisions as part of month-end and year-end closing. - Prepare MIS reports, branch-wise performance summaries, and financial models using advanced Excel. - Monitor budgets and cost control, and prepare variance analysis covering material costs, overheads, and project-wise tracking. Statutory Compliance & Audit - Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, including accurate VAT computation, reconciliation, and timely return filing with the FTA. - Support UAE Corporate Tax computation and related documentation. - Coordinate with internal and external auditors during statutory and internal audits, and provide schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents. Cross-Functional Coordination - Liaise with branch managers, procurement, warehouse, logistics, and sales teams to ensure accurate and timely flow of financial data. - Guide and review the work of junior accountants and accounts assistants where applicable. Qualifications & Experience - Master's degree in Commerce (M.Com) or equivalent qualification in Accounting / Finance. - 6 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the building materials, construction supplies, or trading industries in the UAE. - Proven experience managing accounts across multiple branches under a single legal entity. - Sound exposure to credit-based trading, high-volume invoicing, and inventory-driven accounting. Skills & Competencies - Strong hands-on experience with ERP systems, Tally, and SAP. - Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, and financial modelling. - Solid understanding of receivables, payables, inventory accounting, and bank reconciliation processes. - Working knowledge of UAE VAT regulations, Corporate Tax, and statutory compliance requirements. - Good understanding of IFRS and month-end / year-end closing procedures. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail. - Ability to manage multiple branch accounts simultaneously and meet reporting deadlines. - Excellent communication and coordination skills across departments and branches. - High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling financial data. Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month Work Location: In person
