In this pivotal role, you will lead complex accounting functions, ensure the accuracy of financial records, and support the organization’s financial health. Your expertise will help streamline financial processes, enhance reporting accuracy, and mentor junior team members. Responsibilities Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements to ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Utilize accounting software such as Excel, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms to maintain accurate financial records. Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and precise reporting. Support internal audits and coordinate with external auditors by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Mentor junior accountants by providing guidance on complex transactions and best practices in financial management. Contribute to process improvements by recommending enhancements in financial workflows and automation initiatives. Requirements Minimum AAT qualified Minimum 5 years experience in a UK general practice. Strong proficiency in English and ability to communicate clearly with clients. Preparation and Submission of VAT Returns Must be able to complete Statutory Financial account's Preparation for Limited Companies and Self Assessments. Payroll experience would be an advantage Comprehensive client bookkeeping skills Answering phone calls and deal with client queries in a professional manner Proven experience of qualifications Strong proficiency with accounting software including Excel, QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent systems. Solid understanding of financial accounting principles, reporting standards, and regulatory requirements. Demonstrated ability to manage accounts payable processes efficiently and accurately. Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management. Experience mentoring or supervising junior team members is highly desirable.
