Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Accountant role based in Singapore. The Senior Accountant will take a hands-on role in the full spectrum of accounting and finance activities, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing activities. The role involves preparing financial statements, management reports, budgets, and forecasts, as well as ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and local tax regulations. The Senior Accountant will also review and improve internal controls, support audits, and work closely with operational teams to provide financial insights into business performance. This position requires a practical, hands-on, and detail-oriented individual who is comfortable performing day-to-day accounting tasks while also handling higher-level financial analysis and reporting. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, with strong hands-on experience in general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end closing. Strong hands-on capability in managing the full spectrum of accounting functions, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Solid knowledge of accounting standards (e.g., IFRS or equivalent) and local tax regulations in Singapore. Experience with accounting software and strong Excel skills. Ability to design, implement, and maintain internal controls and accounting processes. Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across functional teams. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional qualifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA) are an advantage. Prior experience in commodities, trading, or minerals-related industries is beneficial. Ability to take initiative and manage both day-to-day transactional accounting and higher-level financial responsibilities. Willingness and flexibility to take on additional operational responsibilities beyond the core accounting function, including day-to-day business support, documentation, coordination, and other ad-hoc operational tasks as required. Proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is required, as the role involves regular communication with Chinese-speaking business partners and stakeholders.
