Senior Accountant
Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee complex accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and contribute to the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. Your expertise will support strategic decision-making and help maintain the organization’s financial health. Responsibilities Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes. Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and accounts payable automation tools. Conduct detailed data entry and Excel data analysis using formulas such as VLOOKUP to support financial reporting. Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit requirements. Utilize financial software systems such as Workday, QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms to streamline accounting operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial concepts, account reconciliation, and month-end/year-end closing activities. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is preferred. Extensive experience in accounting and finance roles, ideally within public accounting or corporate finance environments. Proficiency with accounting systems such as Workday, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Ceridian, or similar HRIS and payroll platforms. Strong understanding of GAAP standards and financial compliance regulations. Hands-on experience with double entry bookkeeping, accounts receivable management, and invoice processing. Skilled in Excel data analysis with advanced knowledge of formulas and spreadsheet functions like VLOOKUP and Excel formulas for reporting accuracy. Familiarity with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft or equivalent enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly while maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent analysis skills for account reconciliation and journal entries to support accurate financial statements.
