This is an hourly, non-exempt, in-office position supporting a 24/7/365 managed security operation and multiple customer environments. The SOC Analyst will monitor, review, document, and escalate security-related activity using established procedures. This role is appropriate for candidates beginning a career in cybersecurity as well as individuals with prior MSP, MSSP, SOC, NOC, IT support, or security operations experience. Paid training is provided. Job Details - Job Type: Full-time, hourly/non-exempt - Hours: 35–40 hours per week - Pay: $24.00–$30.00 per hour, depending on experience - Shift Differentials: Separate differentials apply to qualifying overnight and weekend assignments - Work Setting: In-office only; no remote or hybrid work - Shifts: Multiple evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday assignments are available - Shift Assignment: Employees are assigned to a primary shift; shifts do not rotate - On-Call: Eligible non-overnight shifts participate in an on-call rotation approximately once every six or more weeks - On-Call Compensation: An on-call stipend is provided - Overnight Exemption: Overnight shifts are exempt from the on-call rotation - Shift Transfers: Transfers to another shift may be available based on business needs, staffing availability, performance, and qualification - Benefits: Benefits are included for eligible full-time employees - Training: Paid, in-office training is provided Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for the first two weeks Responsibilities - Monitor and review alerts, tickets, and security-related events. - Perform initial review and triage using established procedures and documentation. - Gather relevant information and identify activity that may require additional review or escalation. - Maintain accurate and timely records of work performed. - Escalate issues according to established procedures and authorization requirements. - Maintain ownership of assigned work and provide clear shift handoffs. - Communicate findings, questions, and next steps clearly to team members and customers when appropriate. - Protect customer information and follow company policies for confidentiality and information handling. - Support continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues, unclear procedures, or opportunities to improve workflows. - Participate in assigned on-call rotations when applicable. Required Qualifications - No formal education or degree is required. - Basic IT knowledge, including familiarity with computer hardware, operating systems, user accounts, common applications, and troubleshooting concepts. - Basic networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, authentication, network services, and common connectivity issues. - Ability to follow written procedures, use runbooks, and ask for assistance when uncertain. - Strong attention to detail and the ability to document work clearly. - Ability to manage multiple alerts or tickets while maintaining ownership and follow-through. - Professional written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work reliably in an in-office environment. - Ability to work an assigned fixed shift, including nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays when applicable. - Ability to complete the required two-week Monday–Friday training schedule from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Preferred Qualifications - Prior experience working for or supporting an MSSP or MSP. - Experience supporting multiple customers, environments, or technology stacks. - Previous experience in a SOC, NOC, help desk, IT support, systems administration, or cybersecurity role. - Experience with ticketing systems, monitoring platforms, logging systems, or security operations workflows. - Experience documenting technical issues, reviewing alerts, or escalating incidents. - Completed IT or security-related training or certifications. Training and Development New analysts receive paid, in-office training covering SOC operations, customer responsibilities, ticket workflows, alert review, documentation standards, escalation procedures, customer communication, handoffs, and safe use of operational tools. Training is conducted Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for two weeks. After training, analysts transition to their assigned fixed shift. Analysts progress from supervised work to increasing independence as they demonstrate safe, accurate, and consistent performance.
