You will drive technical sales of mechanical/HVAC systems while overseeing the coordination of selected projects from bid through handoff to operations—ensuring smooth execution, on-time delivery, and client satisfaction. Job Responsibilities Sales and Business Development Identify, qualify, and pursue new project opportunities with mechanical contractors, engineers, architects, and building owners. Conduct consultative sales: assess project requirements, perform conceptual system selection, and develop value-engineered solutions. Prepare technical proposals, budget pricing, and scope documents; lead presentations to clients and design teams. Maintain relationships with manufacturers, vendors, and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and lead times. Track pipeline and forecast sales activity using CRM; meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets. Engineering and Technical Support Apply mechanical/HVAC engineering knowledge to support equipment selection, system layouts, and performance criteria (VAV, VRF, RTUs, AHUs, pumps, hydronics, etc.). Review drawings, specifications, and submittals; respond to RFIs and technical queries during the bid and design phases. Perform or oversee heat-load calculations, energy analyses, and preliminary sizing as needed to support proposals. Ensure proposed solutions comply with applicable codes, standards, and owner project requirements. Project Coordination and Delivery Act as the primary technical point of contact for awarded projects; coordinate between sales, estimating, engineering, procurement, and field teams. Develop project execution plans: milestones, submittal schedules, procurement timelines, and delivery/installation sequences. Track and distribute project deliverables (submittals, approvals, shop drawings, O&M manuals) and ensure timely responses to RFIs and change orders. Coordinate equipment shipments, factory lead times, and logistics with manufacturers and internal operations to meet job schedules. Attend job meetings with contractors, consultants, and owners; support site visits, start-up, and commissioning as required. Facilitate smooth handoff from sales to operations/project management, documenting scope, risks, and client expectations. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. Active professional license in Mechanical Engineering Experience in mechanical/HVAC sales, application engineering, or design-build with demonstrated project coordination responsibilities is a plus. Strong understanding of commercial/industrial HVAC and mechanical systems (equipment, controls, hydronics, ventilation, energy codes). Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, track deliverables, and coordinate cross-functional teams is an advantage. Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable engaging with engineers, contractors, and C-level stakeholders. Proficiency with MS Office; experience with CRM, estimating, and/or project management tools is a plus. Experience as a manufacturer’s rep sales engineer or in a mechanical contractor’s preconstruction/sales team is also an advantage.
