You’ll report predominantly to the Commercial Manager and will also take instruction from the Business Development Manager, particularly where activity supports prospecting, relationship development and follow-up. The role combines proactive selling with hands-on marketing support. Being comfortable with cold sales and spending time on the phone is essential - this is not a marketing-only position. We deliver complex roof replacement and external refurbishment projects for occupied schools, healthcare buildings, residential blocks, industrial facilities and heritage properties. Our reputation is built on professionalism, integrity, technical knowledge and long-term client relationships. We focus on solving the underlying problem properly - not simply selling a quick fix - and we want our sales and marketing to reflect the same standard. What you’ll be doing You’ll be trusted to manage your activity, contribute ideas and steadily build your knowledge of our clients, services and industry. Sales & business development Make confident, well-researched outbound calls - both cold and warm - to create conversations with prospective clients. Follow up inbound enquiries, campaign responses, previous opportunities and existing relationships in a timely and professional way. Research target organisations, decision-makers, projects and market opportunities across commercial property and the built environment. Qualify opportunities carefully, understanding the client’s needs, timescales and fit before progressing them to the estimating team. Build relationships with building surveyors, property managers, consultants, schools, managing agents, facilities teams and commercial property owners. Maintain accurate records, tasks and pipeline information within our CRM, supporting useful reporting and reliable follow-up. Attend client meetings, site visits, industry events and networking opportunities as your confidence and knowledge grow. Marketing Support the delivery of marketing strategies across the website, SEO, email, social media, case studies, campaigns and sales materials. Help plan and deliver targeted campaigns around priority sectors, services, clients and geographic areas. Create, edit and coordinate useful content that demonstrates our expertise, answers client questions and supports lead generation. Help manage the content schedule and day-to-day social media activity, keeping output consistent, relevant and professional. Support website content management and SEO activity, helping improve the visibility and performance of key pages and articles. Work with site and office teams to gather project information, photography, video, testimonials and technical insight. Monitor lead sources, campaign engagement and content performance, using the results to suggest improvements and new ideas. What success looks like Consistent outbound activity that creates relevant conversations and qualified opportunities. Sales and marketing activity delivered reliably, with campaigns, content, deadlines and follow-ups kept moving. Accurate CRM information and clear reporting on where leads are coming from and what is producing results. Growing confidence across both disciplines, with the ability to represent Maguire Brothers professionally on the phone, in person and online. What we’re looking for We value drive, curiosity and judgement as much as a perfectly matched CV. You’ll ideally bring: Around 1–5 years’ experience in sales, business development, marketing, account management or another relevant customer-facing role. A degree in sales, marketing, business or a related subject is preferred, but strong relevant experience and potential are equally important. Confidence with cold sales, outbound calling and spending a meaningful part of the role on the phone - this is an essential requirement. A self-motivated, proactive approach and the resilience to keep developing opportunities over time. A positive attitude towards targets, lead generation and uncapped commission. Strong written and verbal communication, with the judgement to adapt your approach to different audiences. Good organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage your own tasks and follow-ups. A genuine interest in developing a long-term career and growing your commercial, sales and marketing skills within an established industry. A collaborative, professional style that reflects our values: professionalism, integrity, innovation, passion and partnership. Marketing skills we’d value Hands-on marketing experience - particularly an understanding of SEO, website content management and social media management - would be highly beneficial. Familiarity with CRM platforms such as HubSpot, email marketing tools, content management systems, Canva/Adobe tools or sales intelligence platforms. Experience in construction, property, professional services or another relationship-led B2B environment. A full UK driving licence and the ability to travel to occasional meetings, sites and events across London and the Southeast. Why join Maguire Brothers?
