Description: About the role We’re seeking an experienced, hands-on Sales Manager to lead our field sales representatives and drive Protecta’s sales performance across NSW. This role combines people leadership with active involvement in the market. You’ll coach and support your team, strengthen key customer relationships and drive profitable growth through new business development and existing account opportunities. You’ll take ownership of the state’s sales results, ensuring your team has clear priorities, effective territory plans and the support they need to succeed. Regular time in the field will be a key part of the role, joining customer visits, providing practical coaching and helping the team progress opportunities and win business. Working closely with customer service, operations and other teams across Protecta, you’ll help ensure we deliver on our commitments to customers. What you’ll be doing Lead, coach and develop sales reps, setting clear expectations and supporting individual and team performance. Develop and deliver a state sales plan that drives revenue growth, gross profit and customer retention. Support effective territory planning and customer visit schedules, balancing new business development with growth across existing accounts. Spend time in the field with each representative, strengthening their product knowledge, sales skills and customer relationships. Build and maintain relationships with key customers, contractors, builders and distributors, supporting major opportunities, negotiations and account planning. Help the team understand customer needs and identify opportunities across the product range. Oversee the sales and project pipeline, ensuring opportunities are current, prioritised and progressed through consistent quotation and proposal follow-up. Monitor sales results, forecasts and team activity, identifying opportunities and addressing performance gaps early. Stay across upcoming projects, specification opportunities, competitor activity and customer feedback to inform sales priorities. Work closely with Customer Service, Marketing, Procurement and Operations to support customer requirements, resolve escalated issues and deliver sales initiatives and product launches. Ensure customer, project and opportunity records are accurate and maintained in the CRM and identify ways to improve sales processes and customer experience. Skills and Experiences: About you You’re a confident, commercially minded sales leader who enjoys helping others succeed and takes ownership of results. You can set a clear direction, hold people accountable and provide practical support when it’s needed. You’ll bring: Experience leading and developing a field sales team, with a track record of achieving sales targets and improving team capability. Strong business development and account management skills, including success in winning new customers and growing existing accounts. A practical approach to coaching, including working alongside reps in the field. Commercial awareness, with an understanding of pricing, margins and profitable growth. Experience with specification selling and dealing with major accounts. Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills. Experience managing sales pipelines, forecasts and territory plans, using CRM data and reporting to guide decisions. The ability to prioritise opportunities, follow through on commitments and work collaboratively across departments. A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel across NSW. Experience in building products, construction supply, industrial products or a related industry would be highly regarded. Why Join Protecta?
