Located in the centre of Kuala Lumpur’s creative-cultural core, Else takes a distinct and differentiated approach to hospitality. Our approach is one where every experience is personalised, carefully crafted, and delivered with intention. Our ambition is to operate successful restaurants within a hotel, and create a cohesive hospitality ecosystem across rooms, beverage programmes, events and programming. Role Overview The Sales Manager is responsible for driving commercial revenue and business development across Else, with a primary focus on: 1. Event Sales (PoolHouse, Somewhere, Business Den) 2. F&B Sales (Yellow Fin Horse, Raw) 3. Room Sales The role is highly proactive and relationship-driven, responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing existing accounts, converting enquiries into revenue, and building long-term partnerships with corporate clients, agencies, event organizers, lifestyle brands, social groups and the wider creative community. The Sales Manager should understand that selling Else is not simply about selling a meeting room, restaurant table or hotel room. It is about selling an experience, a sense of place and something different. Success is measured primarily through F&B, event and meeting revenue, supported by clearly defined direct room-sales targets, a healthy sales pipeline, strong conversion, disciplined follow-through and long-term client retention. What You'll Be Responsible For 1. Manage enquiries, site inspections, proposals, negotiations and booking conversion; agree client requirements and secure confirmations and deposits within approved terms. 2. Hotel Room Sales & Cross-Selling Generate room sales through corporate accounts, group stays, event-related accommodation and direct client relationships, working closely with Rooms and Reservations. Sell integrated stay-and-dine, meeting and celebration packages; convert restaurant and event clients into accommodation business and hotel clients into F&B business. Negotiate within approved room rates, availability and commercial terms, coordinating group blocks and booking cut-off dates with Revenue and Reservations; refer pricing or inventory exceptions for approval. 3. Business Development & Account Management Build a qualified pipeline through proactive prospecting, sales calls, networking, site visits and relationships with companies, event planners, agencies and local communities. Develop account plans, maintain regular client contact and identify repeat bookings, referrals and opportunities to increase total account revenue. Maintain accurate CRM records of contacts, enquiries, proposals, booking status and follow-up actions, applying company guest-data and communication requirements. 4. Sales Performance & Commercial Discipline Deliver agreed F&B, event, meeting-room and room-sales targets, with F&B-led business as the principal focus and distinct targets for accommodation. Report pipeline value, conversion, confirmed revenue, room nights, account production and lost-business reasons; provide realistic forecasts and corrective sales actions. Protect margins through approved pricing and discount controls; coordinate contracts, deposits, cancellation terms, billing and payment follow-up with Finance. 5. Cross-Functional Coordination & Guest Experience Confirm operational feasibility with Restaurant, Culinary, Beverage, Rooms and relevant event teams before committing menus, layouts, timings, capacity or special arrangements. Provide complete event orders and booking handovers, including agreed services, guest numbers, dietary needs, room requirements and payment terms; communicate changes promptly.
